The chart update page now displays last Friday's chart positions but the chart history/peaks still show the update positions...

Ah! Thank you. This is the first time I have noticed it. Do you know when that change was made? Was it at the same time that they started lisiting positions from outside the top 100?

Fun fact: Jane McDonald's cover of "APT." had so many streams in its first day, that they had to hide it on the Sunday first look. It's at: 0 Jane McDonald - APT.

I think due to her star and name power it’ll do well on first week but the song quality will determine if it becomes a long running hit or not, she’s had hit or miss before with I don’t wanna live forever from 50 shades being a smash, but her hunger games ones and even Carolina from 2022 didn’t do great, but I’d say she is bigger then ever rn, bigger than she was when Carolina came out that’s for sure, and that only just made the top 100 as it was in between folklore- midnights where she was on the rise again in popularity

And most importantly perhaps, Toy Story 5 is a much bigger film than what Carolina was from, or some of her other soundtrack singles in the last few years.

And disney and pixar were also in on the marketing this time dont forget that

Did her other ones have as much promo though cuz seeing this one everywhere and don't remember that happening for her soundtrack releases before

Dua Lipa - Dua Lipa - Live from Mexico

How is this here, I thought the physicals were out on Friday?

I can't imagine it is doing this well on streaming, maybe physical copies have been sent out early.

Freya's album is beautiful, that definitely deserves better, much better than the second album.

I’ll need to check the new Freya album out. The second one was underwhelming but I did really like Weekends.

Yeah it was more or less one great single and some other songs.

But this one has some lovely ballads similar to the quality of her debut.

I can't find a link to that Dua live album being out this week, everywhere I look says 5th June. I'd like to buy it! myself

Oh nice, I did enjoy her debut album. I’ll have to add this to my list of albums to listen to.

If only Rihanna had done what Taylor does...

Lol.

Rihanna was the real hitmaker. Her songs keep crossing generations and gaining streams year after year without her having to lift a finger. She’s currently the female artist with the most monthly listeners on Spotify while others drop projects every six months and still can’t hold a candle to her. No 15 remixes, no endless variants, no desperate chart tricks. Just timeless hits.

You argument might have merit if Taylor hadn't just been named the most streamed artist of all time on Spotify 🤭

That comparison still doesn’t hold up. Taylor Swift benefits from a massive catalog with constant releases and re-recordings, while Rihanna has a much smaller discography and barely drops music. Yet she still dominates in global monthly listeners which is a far more telling and impressive indicator of real, sustained demand given how limited her catalog actually is. 🤭

Taylor has 12 official albums (16 if you count rerecordings) its not a massive amount more than Rihannas 8 albums you could even argue Rihanna was at 8 long before Taylor got there "so had a head start" 🤭 rihannas catalogue is nowhere near as limited as your making out

Still pretty impressive she is 16th though

Looks like even Ariana can't #reinreinmeinin then - but we're thankful to Taylor for coming to save us next week! Agree with the comments that her soundtrack singles have been hit and miss (though 'Carolina' deserved to smash way more than some of her actual singles) but it looks like they're throwing everything at it so there's no way she's gonna miss #1 (as long as the song's not terrible).

I think we’re all forgetting the real great soundtrack song she released… Friend Of Mine!
