Monday at 06:532 days So the four teams in the semi-finals are the four teams FIFA planned to be there all along. Boring!
Monday at 10:432 days It would have been really nice to see a first time winner of the World Cup. Only eight countries in the entire globe have won this competition and apart from the one time Spain & England won and Uruguay winning it in 1950 it's been the same merry-go-round of five teams over the last decades. You get some shock and unusual occurrences in club football from time to time but it just doesn't seem to happen on the World international stage. Having to wait another 4 years for the next opportunity makes it worse as well.
Monday at 11:052 days True, you get one off upsets at the World Cup but in terms of winning overall there's never been a true outsider. The Euros is where it's at for that, in fact every 12 years we tend to get a surprise winner:1992 - Denmark2004 - Greece2016 - PortugalSo the next Euros we should see an outsider take the spoils!
Monday at 13:092 days I think I said this earlier in the tournament it’d be nice to see a new winner like Norway, Colombia or the likes. But it wasn’t to be!
Monday at 15:262 days There is renewed speculation that the World Cup could be expanded to 64 teams. I'm guessing that the plan is to continue expanding it until Italy manage to qualify.
Monday at 15:552 days So by the time 2038 comes around and it's back in the US we'll be at 128 teams then.
Monday at 16:362 days I'm sure we'll all enjoy watching Spain versus American Samoa in not too long then!

Tuesday at 01:222 days Author Dutch football referee Rob Dieperink has died weeks after he was dropped from officiating at the World Cup following a police investigation in the UK.Dieperink had been selected to be a video assistant referee (VAR) official at this summer's tournament, but was removed from Fifa's list of World Cup officials in May.
