It can be either an album or a single. For me, it was a signed vinyl of "All Fired Up" by The Saturdays. I won it in a Twitter competition many, many moons ago. I won it alongside a signed CD of "All Fired Up", as well as signed CDs of "30 Days" and "Notorious".

My parents got me a record player for my 17th birthday and started off my collection with a bundle of the first 10 Now! That's What I Call Music albums and Clean Bandit's New Eyes! I can't remember which I opened first so thought I'd mention both.

However my first 7” was RAYE’s Genesis. vinyl ! I literally bought it within the first minute of it going on sale LOL

"Come On Eileen" by Dexys Midnight Runners. I was too young to know anything about it but figured it out to be the oldest amongst the handful of record my parents had bought me and when I discovered the charts they explained it had been a number 1 because lots of other people also bought that record that week.

I only own the one vinyl and I’m not sure I’ve ever opened it.

The only reason I started a vinyl collection is because I wanted the Britney 'Baby One More Time' & 'Oops...! I did It Again' picturediscs. So they were my first (I hadn't got a vinyl player until some time in 2023, I think) and that was when I purchased Britney - Glory with the new artwork and remixes on it.

EDIT: Actually I think I also had 'Glory' before actually having a vinyl player! Lol. I got the player once I saw they were re-issuing all of her albums in 2023!
