Sure, that's fine, I don't have a horse in that race, but you're positing Sam Fender and/or his team complaining to the OCC to prevent it from happening. Seems like an attack on character based on spe

re 36 Madonna & Sabrina Carpenter - Bring Your Love

Official Charts Report

Following the release of her new album CONFESSIONS II, Madonna could bag this week’s highest new entry with Danceteria (20).

And that's not all. Bring Your Love with Sabrina Carpenter may also re-enter the fray, currently sat at Number 36.

If all remains, Danceteria would earn Madonna her 74th Top 40 hit.

There’s a big week in the works for Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s Rein Me In, with the track set to become the British song with the most weeks at Number 1. After securing top spot for a 15th non-consecutive week on Friday, equalling Wet Wet Wet’s Love Is All Around from 1994, Rein Me In is on the brink of even more Official Chart history. With American crooner Frankie Laine’s I Believe spending 18 weeks at the top in 1953, the most ever for a song, how long before Rein Me In is crowned the most successful Official Charts song ever?

After his emotional final evening at Wembley Stadium, in which he became the artist to perform the most nights ever at the iconic venue, American Girls from Harry Styles could upset the apple cart and clinch the Official Singles Chart crown once more (2).

Ella Langley’s Choosin’ Texas is set to continue its popularity streak (6) and is one of several hits on the edge of new peaks.

Also in the mix are Prospa’s Free Your Mind (9), On 2nite from Silva Bumpa (12), World Cup banger Dai Dai (14), Stella Lefty’s Boston (15), and French DJ Hugel on Movin’ To The Sun (19), which is set for an impressive 12 place jump.

British sensation SIENNA SPIRO, who dropped her debut album Visitor this week, could see Great Expectation become her fifth main chart accolade (33), while Material Lover eyes further movement (13).

And as England prepare for their World Cup knockout match against Mexico tonight, unofficial team anthem Wonderwall could sprint 11 spots (21).

Considering the single hasn't really caught on in a big way, what sales do we think Confessions II is going to open with?

Id say 30k should easily be doable , didnt someone say she was going for the record of most variants ever

Really interested to see Madonna’s sales - there are 22 physical variants and I’ve seen so many unboxings on insta etc., with people getting 10+ copies.

Also the fact that some of the physicals are priced decently (£19.99 for the vinyl etc.,) should help.

Her last studio album opened with 27k, I think this one will be closer to 40k!

Supposedly the pre sale are 29,992.

Not to compare, but Kylie’s DISCO and Tension also did 29/30K in there first day and both cleared 50K end of week, so hopefully the same or better for Madonna.

To complement this, the source mentioned it's basically after a day and all the pre-orders haven't been counted yet.

Looks like she already passed Madame X first week sales, lol. 😆 (That's a good sign, BTW!).

It will be interesting to see Madonna's sales this week as Warner have spent a lot on this campaign, a few of the variants you could only purchase if you live in the US.

Yeah i do think kylies fanbase are more rabid than Madonnas tbf

I'm not trying to start an argument between both fanbases because this isn't my intention, but I think the difference is that Kylie (despite being Australian) focuses in the UK, while Madonna in the US. However, this doesn't mean that there are fanbases around the world, of course.

Yeah it was tongue in cheek , the fact that 2 females artists that were mahoosive in the 80s still have the fanbases to pull in theses sort of numbers 40 years into their careers is incredible

The closest modern artist to this is Taylor swift and be interesting what sort of numbers she will be doing in another 20 years

I’m predicting

Madonna - 55-60k

Sienna - 17k (would love this to be way higher but the last minute shows / signings lead me to believe it’s maybe not sold as well as hoped?)

Edited by Mr. C. Joel

What were the opening sales of Madonna’s last few albums?

Studio albums since 2000:

2000: 151,891 - Music

2003: 65,013 - American Life
2005: 217,610 - Confessions on a Dancefloor

2008: 94,655 - Hard Candy

2012: 56,335 - MDNA
2015: 37,245 - Rebel Heart
2019: 27,227 - Madame X

I previously mentioned in one of the Madonna's threads artist forum posts that Confessions II may debut with 32k. However, given that figure sales number, I can see her recent album to surpass Rebel Heart's first week sales, which I didn't think she could initially do that. I can increase my prediction to be between 39k to 43k now, which includes the streaming sales too.
