Because it wasn't an official single.

People do have a lot of trouble telling the difference between official and promo/buzz singles these days!

Wikipedia makes matters worse as anyone can edit it.

If it wasn't on the radio lots of times and wasn't promoted heavily, chances are it wasn't a real bloody single!

I admit that it can get confusing when Crapital/Jack Saunders play things that were clearly meant to be buzz tracks or when mid-2020s Now That's What I Call Music put Lola Young/Lewis Capaldi album/EP tracks on their compilations to make their 50p budget go further.

Yeah it is very hard! I just take the assumption that anything that gets very heavy daytime radio play is a single.

R1 isn't that much of a "youth" station listener-wise in 2026 and it doesn't feel like they even pretend it is anymore, I frequently hear voice notes on there from people who say they're on their way to pick up their grandkids etc so God knows where that 15-29 nonsense fits into this. That age range was put in place at a time when pop culture worked completely differently and when there was a clear generational gap when it came to music.

Yeah the 15-29 target audience thing is very strange. Especially when, currently, only 2 daytime presenters fit into that age range. They are Sam and Danni.

From September, 5 presenters will fit into that age range. They will be Jerry, GK Barry, Charley, Sam and Danni.

jerry is already a daytime presenter tbf. he’s always in for mollie or jamie/vick

Tune Of The Weeks:

Dean McCullough: RAYE x Amma x Absolutely - Joy.

Sam & Danni: Rose Gray - Just Be Bodies

Rickie/Melvin/Charlie: Jorja Smith - I Lied, You Lied

Matt & Jerry: ANOTR x Emily Warren - Silver Lines

James Cusack: MUNA - Eastside Girls

THE KEEN HOUSEHOLD + 4 BANGERS cheeseblock

For the subtitle I imagine Craig Revel Horwood saying 'daunce, daunce, daunce'.

You are certainly keen about that!

Anyone else feel like Jorja Smith's recent output is boring?

Name a tune he would’ve chosen if he was still there

For me - maybe something new from Pheobe Bridgers or Troye Sivan
