Completely understand the deduction, not expecting any exceptions at all, felt . completely rough if someone had been unwell all week and was unable to vote what would be the case around that? Not trying to influence anything just curious.

Hey I hope you're on the mend today.

I would say:

• Knowing in advance that votes would be coming late/not at all (obviously not always possible to know this in advance)

• Getting votes just a little late rather than the following afternoon

I'm not attributing the decision entirely to the mods but I did ask what I should do and was recommended to apply the same deduction to all late voters - and that includes some who were only a couple of hours late so it gets tricky if I give them a deduction but exempt another from an even later vote. I do think that it is fair from an organisational point of view, before wading into health/personal circumstances because I had stayed up late last night + got up early this morning to try and get ahead with scoreboards and other prep as I knew that I would be busy all afternoon. Having so many votes come in late while I was doing this did delay this and meant I had to redo scoreboards etc.

I don't think that the other late votes (and there were a lot of them) were due to any extenuating circumstances so I'm definitely in favour of the deduction existing for dissuasive reasons.
