  • The title of 'Why'd You Come In Here Looking Like That' really did get cut off at the most unfortunate place didn't it

  • Currently feeling uncomfortable as my payroll team are discussing how Mr Brightside never leaves the charts and is the most popular song in the UK ever. I’m not even safe out in the real world. This

  • They’ll probably make #1 on the all important Big Top 40 though, right @Sami Hook Jama?!

Her Essentials is advertised as soon as you enter the home page with Jolene, 9-5 and Islands in that order!

Other Dolly appearances on the Apple country chart at the moment:

#75 I Will Always Love You

#125 Here You Come Again

#141 Coat of Many Colors

🕊️

On Amazon (usual caveat that about half the songs are excluded from the chart I can see):

#47: Jolene

#73: Islands In The Stream

#120 & #180: 9 to 5

Significant uplift on Apple

#17 (+156) Islands In The Stream

#21 Jolene

#30 9 to 5

#72 I Will Always Love You

#154 Coat of Many Colors

#170 Here You Come Again

She’s also charting a further 9 songs on the country genre chart

'Islands In The Stream' was originally from a Kenny Rogers album and billed him first although all the versions on streaming services now seem to have the billing flipped. Theoretically it shouldn't count to Dolly's 3 song limit. (I hope it doesn't anyway, as I'd love to see her original and far better version of 'I Will Always Love You' finally charting).

The OCC appear to credit this to "Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers" on the digital release so it'll count as one of her own tracks. Interesting that the credits have flipped now though I guess Dolly ended up as the bigger name so it makes sense why they'd want to put her name first

AM Dolly update:

#8 - Jolene

#9 - Islands In The Stream (w/ Kenny Rogers)

#13 - 9 To 5

#24 - I Will Always Love You

#47 - Coat Of Many Colors

#55 - Here You Come Again

Why is Islands so high up anyway? I will always love you is also number 1 on iTunes though so hopefully it will be

#1 on her page i believe

I imagine her Apple Music positions will peak around the early evening updates given their rolling-24-hour-window formula.

Hoping the OCC estimate massive streams for her on Thursday - they severely overestimated Three Lions a few weeks ago during the World Cup and that peaked in streams around the same time as Dolly's tracks will be. Would love to see I Will Always Love You chart for the first time (hoping Islands In The Stream is classed as having Kenny Rogers as the lead artist) - crazy to think she only had two top ten hits over here!

I'd say Islands is probably her third best-known song after Jolene and 9 To 5, it was her 2nd song to go 3x platinum in the digital era after the latter - also it's a banger even if she didn't write it.

MASSIVE!!! Genuinely the biggest boost after someone passes in years.

It’s a travesty that most of these songs will end up peaking after she’s gone.

I guess she’s a huge name and has fewer songs in which to play.

shame that 'Islands' seemingly has had the primary artist swapped from Kenny to Dolly which will prevent 'I Will Always Love You' from charting.
