Dolly doesn't have top billing on Islands in the Stream. The original record is credited to Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, so they have joint billing.

The sales numbers for each Girls Aloud re-release are remarkably consistent.

But the occ is currently using the version where she does have lead billing and so it counts towards her 3 track limit.

Amazing to see Dolly chart so high from just a few days, nice that 9 to 5 has finally got top 40 status. Shame a stupid chart rule has limited her other songs getting there for a first time.

Decent position in the end for Fontaines DC although I really don’t get why they chose a midweek release. I guess they aren’t fussed by chart peaks but they could have had an easy top 10.

Yes, turns out that in 1994, Dolly's record label filed for the digital rights to the song Islands In The Stream and with first mention and this is how it is recorded in the OCC database. While the majority of its sales units are from real sales, that's almost certainly the download version and so the one attributed to Dolly first. The ee top 40 has 4 Dolly Parton songs there at 9 to 5 no.27, here you come again no.12, islands in the stream no.6 and jolene at no.3.

I find it criminal that no Dolly Parton songs in the hits UK network top 40 which also doesn't have 3 songs rule. I know that because they before had like 4 Michael Jackson songs in it not long after the movie

True. This is a week old now, I assume, so I wonder what things will look like when the new chart is announced today.

Well I listened to first look at 6 pm to 7 pm and rein me in was 8th. With dolly at 1 and 2

This was talking about the Global Big Top 40 I assume - looking at the positions. But I managed to confuse myself. I thought yesterday was Saturday, and today was Sunday - this was yesterday’s chart, not last week’s.

I’m surprised therefore that Dolly wasn’t higher.
