It's SoundClash!

In this event we celebrate the one hit wonders of the 21st century so far.

In each round, two songs will go head to head to come out on top, with each credited artist only having a single UK Top 40 hit to their name. In each case, you're voting for your favourite song. The winning songs will then go into a grand collection of one hit wonders to be voted for once the opening rounds are complete.

These are the two songs going head to head this round;

Esmée Denters – Outta Here {#7, 2009} 🇳🇱

Esmée Denters first gained attention by posting cover songs on YouTube, where she attracted millions of viewers. She was subsequently signed to Justin Timberlake’s label and released her debut album.

Secondcity – I Wanna Feel {#1, 2014} 🇬🇧

Secondcity is the stage name of British electronic music producer and DJ Rowan Harrington. His music combines catchy vocal hooks with driving house rhythms and club-focused production.

You Decide!

Here is what we have had so far in this series of SoundClash;

Vanessa Amorosi vs. Ten Walls

Divine Inspiration vs. Kent Jones

Newton Faulkner vs. Bridgit Mendler

Andreas Johnson vs. Nico & Vinz

DB Boulevard vs. Grace

Little Jackie vs. Wynter Gordon

O-Zone vs. Dynoro & Gigi D'Agostino

The Bravery vs. Alex Clare

Secondcity, not a bad house track.

I wasn't a major fan of Esmée although for a while she seemed like the next big thing and it was cool to see a Dutch pop singer do well. I preferred the Chipmunk collab that went top three (had completely forgotten it did that well!)

The dance scene of 2014 was spectacular and this #1 single was very typical of the house music on offer at the time. I think Esmeé was very much a flash in the pan whose fame quickly vanished.
