Recent history has shown that Christmas songs begin to dominate the charts in early November. With no major new releases to come is it safe to say that the current batch of hits will just shuffle around the upper reaches of the singles charts for the month of November until the Christmas hits push them out for December?

And in the first week of January 2027 many older hits will get reset. All of this means that new releases will be held off until late January and we are stuck with a stagnant singles chart for Nov- Feb.

Something needs to change……

Tinie Tempah is NOT going to be on the GTA soundtrack, and even if he was I doubt it would be a hit

I’m just thinking surprise artists

What if it was different to what he normally does

We should compile our own chart and remove songs over a year old and redo the ACR model, not sure where the data for songs below the ‘official’ 100 is going to be obtained. I feel like songs that are at 147 on the official chart may actually be number 45 if the charts worked properly

I admire your determination to make Tinie Tempah in 2026 happen lol

While Christmas music starts appearing in November, it doesn’t dominate the charts until December. Plenty of time for new hits to emerge and have done so in the last few years.

Even if new music released around now starts getting overtaken by Christmas music, it will likely lead in the new year. Raindance being the main example of a 2025 November release which got to #1 in Jan 2026.
