imagine going back in time fifteen years and telling fun. fans that Jack Antonoff would be a household name while Nate Ruess would be largely remembered for a feature on a P!NK song...

  • Going to need Tame Impala and co.'s collaboration with Justice to make the chart next week <3

Biography

British producer and DJ Cloonee makes energetic, feel-good tech-house which takes influence from hip-hop, dancehall, Latin music, and more. Following early club hits like 2016's "Separated," he broke through with his major-label debut, 2019's "Be Good to Me." His profile has continued to rise with the release of tracks like 2021's festive "Sun Goes Down" and the 2023 rave flashback "Fine Night." His 2025 single "Not Gonna Be Your Boo" was based around a Robin S sample. - Apple Music

I don't really like this song a great deal but it's very catchy, has been in my head most of the week lol

This really needs to stop gaining momentum, it's awful.

Do we have a new number 1 on the dance chart on Sunday's first look show ?

So catchy, I like this is a climber!

Biography

Noah Kahan pens tender-hearted meditations on life’s ups and downs that are rustic enough for country cabins yet infectious enough for the pop charts. The singer-songwriter was born in 1997 and grew up on a farm in Vermont. He spent his youth refining his folk picking on guitar, banjo and mandolin while transforming his voice into the raspy falsetto captured on his debut hit, 2017’s “Hurt Somebody”. Recorded while bouncing between New York, LA and points in between, Kahan’s first two full-lengths, 2019’s Busyhead and 2021’s I Was / I Am, showcase an artist sharpening his pop instincts. When the COVID pandemic hit in 2020, Kahan returned to Vermont and—feeling nostalgic for his New England childhood—stripped his music to its gritty soul, resulting in 2022’s breakout album, Stick Season. Its viral title track later took Kahan all the way to the big time (thanks, in part, to an Olivia Rodrigo cover in 2023) and he went on to reimagine several Stick Season cuts—including a version of “Dial Drunk” featuring rapper Post Malone—that reflect a gift for shaping folk and pop into increasingly novel expressions. Kahan might have been a changed man after Stick Season, but on 2026 follow-up The Great Divide, he got back to doing what he does best: penning small-town stories with searing honesty that root themselves in your head and heart. “Stick Season is like doing shrooms and thinking you understand the entire world,” he told Apple Music. “The Great Divide is like three months later: ‘That was great and that was helpful but there’s a lot more we gotta figure out still.’” - Apple Music

'Good Girl' is such a ridiculous song but I'm lying if it's not a guilty pleasure, I'd definitely rather listen to it than 'Free Your Mind'. (Prospa have much, much better songs than either in their back catalogue though, shoutout to the excellent instrumental 'Boy Racer')

no, the Dance chart doesn't use ACR and Movin' To The Sun is still much higher on unadjusted consumption

ALBUMS

01 Jamie T - Ghosts (100 Days of Morning)

02 Chase & Status - Generic Everything

03 Olivia Rodrigo - you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love

04 Michael Jackson - The Essential

05 Olivia Dean - The Art of Loving

pleasantly surprised to see Chase & Status hold for a third #2 album - would've thought O-Rod & MJ would overtake based on the Wednesday midweeks but I guess those iTunes downloads helped out

Would have definitely preferred Chase & Status who gave us banger after banger, but my Jamie T hate comes with some bias as a former boss was a huge fan of his and would play his music almost every shift, and she was an absolute demon of a person. I got sick of him in collateral.

Biography

Kevin Parker spends months (or years) at a time tinkering away in his home studio, playing every instrument and singing every part on his self-produced albums as Tame Impala. Yet he gets the most satisfaction from taking those creations out on the road, as he told Apple Music in 2025: “Being on tour, there’s no other activity in my life that gives me such a sense of purpose.” Of course, Parker has always contained multitudes. Let’s not forget that he transformed psychedelic rock—and 21st-century pop—in such an impactful way that even Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Kanye couldn’t resist his influence. Parker started Tame Impala in 2007 from his Perth home, experimenting with an arsenal of reverb, phaser, delay and fuzz pedals on his 2010 debut album InnerSpeaker. For 2012’s Lonerism, he loaded up on synths, found inspiration in Todd Rundgren and locked into woozy pop grooves made of both dreams and nightmares. As Parker has looked further inward, his music—and musical circle—has continued to expand outward. By the mid-2020s, he had collaborated with Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson and Lady Gaga. Parker has remained a unique outlet, embracing widescreen funk (2015’s Currents), mid-thirties introspection (2020’s The Slow Rush) and elegiac techno (2025’s “End of Summer”). He’s also proven his pop instincts over and over again, as when he spiked his fatherhood-inspired 2025 album Deadbeat with a breakout earworm in “Dracula”. The song’s later success as a viral remix (featuring BLACKPINK’s JENNIE) and dance trend only confirm that Parker’s work enjoys a long lifespan once he’s done with it—both onstage and off. - Apple Music

Great that Jamie T and Chase & Status held their top 2 positions! (Would have loved for C&S to get a #1 album but at the start of the week I am not sure I'd even have expected it to go top 5). Feels a bit odd that Jamie T went so long without a #1 album and now has 2 in a row quite a long time after what seemed like the peak of his relevance but I heard '3310' on R1 recently and enjoyed it so he's still putting out some good stuff.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard coming for that chart debut cheeseblock

While this still doesn't do much for me, I'm glad our pop diva is establishing some stability. Slay queen 💅
