Can we not live in a world where both Here Comes The Night and Release Me are the undoing of Agnes in a Pop contest?

BRING AGNES BACK! WE NEED MORE SWEDES! (repeat)

Got to say that Agnes song is absolute fire, just listened to it and forgot how much I loved it. Definitely a contender for top spot!

Bought this on release in 2000 when cassettes were still a practical purchase.

I can't see Dido's name on it though. Maybe I should try the back?

Nope not there either. How about the sleeve?

Ah there it is, "Track 1" - you couldn't miss it.

I cackled!!

As well as that, isn't it just a sample or did she re-record her vocal for the song?

Release Me and Bleeding Love are probably two of my favourite songs from the 00’s. Sad that one or both of them will see them eliminated.

Listening to the songs, I had forgotten how good Release Me actually was. I hadn't really delved that much into any other Agnes songs pre-Pop Factor. But she's defo got some bangers!

Fingers crossed she manages to return!

Nope. Can’t do it. Too difficult.

1. Was really tough between 3 of these but this has always been a huge banger for me. Sounded amazing then and still hits it off now. My song of the year it made it's impact too with 6 weeks atop my chart <3

2. Undeniable classic of course.

3. So tough as this is of course an all time great too.

4. Another banger pop tune and my personal fave of hers so a shame I can't put it inside the top 3 but the competition is tough.

5. Is great and was a 7 week 1 for me too like the official chart but I'm not as crazy on it nowadays. Still a statement proper lead nonetheless.

6. I do remember this one now and it's decent enough.

7. Sadly didn't do an awful lot for me. Was expecting one or two other options I know and really like to be chosen oops.

Voted.

Have voted, last place was kinda easy and along similar lines to the male solo vote.

However a strong set of songs overall.

"Male" vote. 🤭

Voted!

1. Unbeatable in any category, at any stage of the competition

2. Another of my all-time favourite songs

3. An undeniable classic that still hits hard

4. Ditto, although a fair way behind my top three

5. Good track, certainly one of her best

6. I do recall hearing this before and enjoyed hearing it again

7. Ditto, but a bit mid for me

The group’s round was stronger !

Ooh... this was tough too.

Top 2 were very close, but even 3rd and 4th I struggled with, but for an entirely different reason.

Voted - incredibly strong round!

God, this is SUCH a good list. The fact I just had back to back slayage with Begin Again and Talking Body and both are very unlikely to help their act is crazy work but speaks to the standard. I really wish the latter (Tove Lo) could’ve had longer.

Why is this a brutal round everyone brought A game

1. No word for this song other than legendary

2. A superb pop song and the best choice this mentor could have made to try and get back in

3. Classic track that deserves some love

4. Another superb song, but I wanted a different song from this artist for them to push the top 3

5. Solid choice - but how can they compete with the top 4?!

6. Going to assume this was picked as a personal fave from someone not expecting to qualify. I'd have done the same if I'd gotten this artist

7. Didn't do much for me sadly

01. Timeless beaut. I’d have done a different song, personally but this makes complete sense!

02. An absolute BANGER. Still to this very day. The VOCALS!

03. I always remembered this packing a bit more punch, but maybe I mis remembered it. Banger though.

04. Bop!

05. I’d say I was over it but I don’t think I was ever fully on board with it. Oops. Sorry!

06. I penalised here… I’m sorry! (Woulda been 3rd based on purely song merit)

07. Doesn’t do anything for me unfortunately.
