Here is a quick bit of trivia, concerning Radio One. Back this week in 1978 (30 years ago), Radio One increased their chart to a top 40, for the first time. However it still only continued to play the top 20, on a Sunday until 12th Nov 78. As then, the new chart was always announced on a Tuesday at 12.45pm. Previous to that the BBC only announced a top 30 (22nd Aug 67 - 2nd May 78).

It has always been a rule for the BBC, to not announce positions outside the top 40 on air...the only person that sees the complete top 200, are the Radio producers, when the chart is new.

In those days, the Sunday chart got 14million listeners every week across Western Europe. Today Hit40uk is the most listened to chart, and gets a third more listeners than Radio One. This week, on the top 40`s birthday that Hit40 lot will actually get to the top 10 before Radio One. What a bad show! ;)

Thing is.... Fare enough downloading this song for 79p, but to spending £9 on a whole Scooter album? Has the sun gone to everyone's head?

I know exactly what you mean!

Don't all of their songs sound the same anyway?

And where did all of these Scooter fans come from all of a sudden?

The Sun has gone to everyone's head! James Fox top 15. Though that means he's had 2 top 15 hits now don't it?

second most unexpected comeback of the year! the most unexpected was Scooter

Really don't think much of this song. Work was much better :)

Did anyone watch Nokia Green Room today.

It was really strange (Kelly Rowland performed- that's why I asked)

To be fair it's a Greatest Hits AND new album combined, it was heavily tv advertised with like a minute long advert, they're on some kind of clubland tour and it was selling for less than £8 in most places!

Gentle piano-led indie popsters whose self-titled debut hit the top spot in the UK album chart in 2008. Musically, Scouting For Girls (the band's name a mildly humorous play on Robert Baden-Powell's 'Scouting For Boys' handbook) are similar to the Ben Folds Five, but lyrically they are closer to the Arctic Monkeys. After building up a large MySpace following (naturally their fans are known as Wolf Cubs), Scouting For Girls signed to Epic. The SCOUTING FOR GIRLS album featured the top ten singles "She's So Lovely" and the witty "Elvis Ain't Dead". - HMV
