August 17, 200818 yr Just a gentle reminder to everyone that the Buzzjack Album chart is now up and ready for you to post in (once today's top 40 is finished of course). Why not head over to Personal Charts and have a gander afterwards or even submit your own album chart towards it :o :w00t: If we've been listening to an album that isn't that recent (i.e. last year) is it still ok to put that in our chart for the Album chart?
August 17, 200818 yr I'm hoping as this song is so 'summer' themed, that it will bugger off quickly once summer is over.

I think this joins 'Rockstar' and Mariah & Westlife somehow making one of the worst songs of all time even worse in my worst three songs of the decade. Absolutely appalling, proof that any old gimmick can sell a song. Abysmal. :puke:

August 17, 200818 yr Much rather Katy Perry than Kid c**k again. It's a shame Katy Perry didn't release the download on the Monday a couple of weeks ago and stop him even getting one week.
August 17, 200818 yr My faves this week: 1. (1) Katy Perry – I Kissed A Girl* 2nd week at #1 3. (4) The Script - The Man Who Can't Be Moved 4. (5) The Verve – Love Is Noise 5. (3) Dizzee Rascal Feat. (25) Ultrabeat & Darren Styles - Discolights Not a great deal :(
August 17, 200818 yr I think it will be there for a while though :/ Oh without a doubt. It's huge because of the gimmick and how it's marketed. Even Virgin Radio are playing it loads. Just look at the acts on their playlist: Adele, Coldplay, The Coral, Duffy, Fratellis, Gabriella Cilmi, Ida Maria, Iglu & Harty, Keane, Kid Rock, Kings Of Leon, Kooks, Nickelback, Noah & The Whale, Oasis, One Republic, Paul Weller, Queen & Paul Rodgers, Sara Barielles, Scouting For Girls, The Script, The Verve and then Katy Perry. Full of mainstream indie/indie-pop and MoR. A bit of a standout, no? And why is it playlisted? Well... "I wonder who else we could sell this song about lesbian kissing too. I know, let's send it to Virgin Radio, with their their target audience of 35-55 year olds, mainly male over female. Dirty old men will love it" :puke: :puke: :puke:

I do like the song though, but I question the gimmick of the subject matter. As someone else has already said (N-S), how would a song called I Kissed A Boy from a male artist do?!
August 17, 200818 yr They should have slowed Ironik down instead, then the hamster voice thing would actually sound like a real person and everyone could understand what it's saying! but then you'd just get Westlife (SERIOUSLY!) I love your number 1 by the way
