Posted November 14, 200816 yr Here is the list of releases for that week: Amadou & Mariam - Welcome To Mali Anna Netrebko – Souvenirs Barlowgirl – Home For Christmas Belle And Sebastian - The BBC Sessions Beres Hammond – A Moment In Time Beyonce – I Am...Sasha Fierce Buraka Som Sistema – Black Diamond David Byrne & Brian Eno - Everything That Happens Will Happen Today Dido – Safe Trip Home Dr Meaker – A Lesson From The Speaker Gabriel Yared - Retrospective Honey Ryder – Rising Up Jane Birkin - Enfants D'Hiver Jools Holland with Ruby Turner & His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra – The Informer N-Dubz – Uncle B Nickelback – Dark Horse Rod Stewart - Some Guys Have All The Luck Russell Watson – People Get Ready Simply Red – 25: The Greatest Hits T-Pain - Thr33 Ringz Tom Jones – 24 Hours Vonda Shephard – From The Sun Now 71 3 biggest contenders: Beyonce - she´s been exposed pretty much everywhere and is on the back of a hugely sucessful lead single... Nickelback - Coming from a hugely sucessful album, which despite being released years ago, only took off in UK since one year or so. Dido - coming from one of the most sucessful albums of the decade, but after a 5 years break and a lead single that is so far, the least sucessful of all (peak # 54). Has the advantage of being higher on pre-orders, tough. Will Beyonce build on the sucess of the hugely sucessful single that sold more then 60,000 copies on downloads alone??? Will Nickelback keep their momentum in Uk and score a #1 album??? Will Dido´s fanbase be strong enough to hit #1 despite the lack of airplay and the flop of Don´t Believe In Love in the charts??? Or will an outsider end up higher then the rest? Edited November 14, 200816 yr by Overstaged
November 14, 200816 yr I think N dubz will go Top 10 - Surprisingly 'Papa' is all over the music channels (Especially Fizz) Dido will go top 20 I think and will surprise alot of people (the wrong kind of Surprise) Anyway Beyonce will beat them all TBH! Edited November 14, 200816 yr by Johnjo07
November 14, 200816 yr Dido will flop but hope she doesnt Beyonce may be No.1 or top5 and Nickelback top ten
November 14, 200816 yr Beyonce will get Number 1 no probz. If I Were A Boy has been really popular, and it think its gonna be a really big album. I cant see anyone stopping her, especially not Dido.
November 14, 200816 yr I'd personally like it to be Beyonce but im starting to doubt it. It wont be Dido though, Nickelback are a possibility.
November 14, 200816 yr Probably Dido, though it's weird to me that the single flopped so bad yet the album has huge pre-orders. Also I'd love it to be Jane Birkin
November 14, 200816 yr Tbh none of them will. Nickleback- Didn't even know they had a new album out (already!). Beyonce- She's not exactly a BIG contender for albums is she? Dido- Ahh she's gonna flop on her ass big time.

Dido- Ahh she's gonna flop on her ass big time. - What do ya mean "already?" their last album was released 2005 :P  'Rockstar' just boosted sales  - Well, recently (Girls Aloud & P!nk eg) have both had BIG selling albums of 2008 after REALLY successful singles, and Beyonce has a massive single so it could go either way ;) It will either go top 5 or will flop completely IMO. - Dido - No Comment :heehee:

Dido.
November 15, 200816 yr Author Well, Beyonce has the single, Dido has the credibility. Last time around Beyonce had a #1 with her lead single (Deja Vu) and the album sold a crappy 35k in its opening week, and dropped to # 19 in its second week. Later, with the second single "Irreplaceable" the album climbed a bit back again but still its final sales weren´t anything but mediocre. I was also thinking Dido would flop, but given the pre-orders and its position on big online retailers, I guess she will easily go Top 5 at least, which won´t be bad considering its lack of promo. Artists like Britney and Beyonce wouldn´t score a Top 40 entry with an album promoted this badly. I guess credibility is a factor that counts a lot... I mean, Beyonce sells on the basis of her hugely popular singles, but she hardly has any musical credibility, does she??? This means she will vanish as quick as the hits stop coming. Only credible acts can sell well even when their singles are not being played anywhere. I forgot to add to the list also the re-issues of Leona Lewis and Duffy. Both are going to be big.
November 15, 200816 yr Author HMV albums chart (it´s not the pre-orders chart, it´s the actual albums chart with pre-orders included): 01 DIDO 03 BEYONCE 11 NICKELBACK Amazon UK albums chart: 16 DIDO 37 NICKELBACK 110 BEYONCE Itunes UK: None of them is listed in the Top 100, but Dido was until yesterday, and she peaked at #14 more then a month ago. Remember all these pre-orders since many weeks ago are being added to the album´s first week sales. Dido also have a deluxe version of her album coming, which is counted separetaly for online retailers rankings, but will be added to the album´s total in the official chart. The ranking above are considering only the standard version of the album. Edited November 15, 200816 yr by Overstaged
November 15, 200816 yr Yeah Leona could very well pinch it again! Will they be counted together? Or will it be seperate sales? I think the rules have changed to being together haven't they?
November 15, 200816 yr Author Well, TBH, I think Leona, Duffy and Nickelback are out of question... Il Divo won´t have strong enough sales this week either to remain at #1 for a second week. The battle is in just for Beyonce and Dido. I still have hopes that DBIL wasn´t such a big flop after all... maybe people were just waiting for the album, cause they know Dido is worth the entire album, not just the single.
November 15, 200816 yr I forgot to add to the list also the re-issues of Leona Lewis and Duffy. Both are going to be big. Duffy's the 24th
November 15, 200816 yr Dido will be comfortably #1, albeit on far lower 1st-week sales than Life For Rent achieved.
