December 3, 200817 yr Do you think so? I think maximal 400k as they sold in the second day only half from the first day. Does this number of 204.6k take also the pre-sales in account? But you've got Friday an Saturdays sales, which are sometimes the biggest sales of the week (I think) because that's when everyone's got paid & Kids are off on Sat etc... so more sales are generated then. Tuesday is usually one of the slowest days. (I could be wrong though)
December 3, 200817 yr You all think too much of this bland cover version, i guess.)) I know that Take That would have no chance to get the number one spot back off Leona but they are doing a prime time tv special "An audience with.." this weekend . I am sure its gonna be a hit show and will boost their sales up by quite a lot. That's why i asked. Also Leonas sales will slow down too next week. I think it's more likely to boost their album sales next week rather than the single going back to No.1. Edited December 3, 200817 yr by Crazy Chris

It will boost their singles sales (and album sales), but the sales differential between Leona and Take That is too big - probably between 3-4x the size, for Take That to cover.

Well they got their 11th number 1. It isn't the first song to lose number 1 after just a week - and if its to this song by Leona its no great shame. I do think it's a shame that an excellent song like GA's The Promise lost its position after just a week to a bloody awful song though! I should imagine Take That's album sales will be pretty good at the start of next week and hopefully sales of Beautiful World and NFUC will gain too. December 3, 200817 yr Brilliant sales for Take That, has there been an album this decade that's had half a million first week sales? Shame about Grace, it's a great live track as well, it's in it's 5th week on the chart this week, but I thought he'd make #25 at least, :( it might have helped more if his EP, with the mixes and live version was featured in this weeks releases on iTunes. Only the video+ album version is showing up. I guess he's just not a singles seller anymore, I'm pleased his album has stayed in the top 40 it's 10th week though. Release a ballad next Will! Edited December 3, 200817 yr by suggy
December 4, 200817 yr Where is Enya in the albums please Mikey or someone when you read this. :magic:

December 4, 200817 yr Have I missed something or are Oasis actually on course to get another No. 1? Sales figures seem very low so there's probably a catch... Think 'I'm Outta Time' deserves No. 1 anyways, it's an awesome track. Way better than Leona's Lewis's dull-as-dishwater butchery of 'Run'.

Unfortunately if you read the whole thread you will see that Oasis arn't going to number 1, perhaps not even top 10. Itunes data was missing on the Tuesday Mids.

Does this number of 204.6k take also the pre-sales in account? yes im pretty certain that pre-orders count towards first day sales.. day1 133k (with pre-orders) day2 71.6k still it sold 71k 2nd day which is pretty big.. it will do well on saturday possibly 100k alone that day i think we probably will be looking at 400k-475k easily by the end of the week
December 4, 200817 yr i guess u finally heard the song hu? Its ok - I can appreciate why people want to buy it in its zillions (more so than Bleeding Love - at least that godawful warbling seems to have been kept in check) but I'm notoriously mean and won't buy unless I LOVE it - which I don't. The only things that have done that for me lately (apart from the Take That album) are Katy Perry & Viva La Diva and in those cases I bought the album. Norma
December 4, 200817 yr Don't Take That hold the rexcord this decade for the most copies sold in a week with their very own 'Beautiful World' from Christmas 2006? :o Or is my memory relapsing? I don't like their new one as much as BW but I'm just happy that we finally seem to be getting some strong sales on the album front. Doubt it'll be enough to save the pitiful year fully though. Go Leona too. I like Snow Patrol's a lot more but her's has so much emotion in it. Needs to be shorter though as it gets boring after a while.
December 4, 200817 yr Any idea whereabouts Heavy Rotation is? 100+50+8 (Tuesday) Where is Enya in the albums please Mikey or someone when you read this. :magic: Down 2 (Wednesday)
