December 19, 200816 yr i think you insult gay music fans! but maybe thats whats wrong with them... (the saturdays that is....lol) I'm insulting myself then  And there is something about girlbands (Spice Girls, Girls Aloud. The Saturdays, Sugagbabes etc,) that brings out the worst in some gay men
December 19, 200816 yr I'm not a fan but well done PopBitch, you'd make the best mod for the forum. :cheer: 'Up' is getting major airplay in South Africa.. I'm never quite sure with some of your posts if you are taking the p*** or not :heehee:
December 20, 200816 yr I've just seen this now and I think most can guess who I agree with. I agree entirely on the removal of debate but it also brings in issues as to the state of Buzzjack. On CC no requests were allowed for acts who hadn't produced 2/3 albums. Not enough to talk about etc Now it seems its fine even if only a debut record has been released because the gap can be plugged with menial brainless boot and immunes (or as a I call them "post a random collection of numbers"). I mean WHY do The Saturdays need their own forum? What does it add to Buzzjack? Surely it should make the site a better place? Except it won't. Going off of this thread it's pretty obvious that it's going to remove one of the few remaning pockets of debate on the entire site. Buzzjack is a site over-saturated with AFs and it's sucked out the discussion and left a load of banal topics in forums where debate is non-existant. It's also left a memberbase fragmented, disconnected and essentially bland. It may sound over-reactionary but I honestly believe the inclusion of a Saturdays forum is a damaging thing for Buzzjack. It brings about no good. And may I add you do not know how actually happy (lame I know :/) it made me to see some differences of opinion, some arguing going on! And some actual humour. I mean srsly some of you, Kate was having a laugh, a bit of a joke. You're over-reacting a little bit? It's The Saturdays man. They probably won't even be here in a year. Lighten up!
December 20, 200816 yr The Saturdays forum is not just full of games though - Yes their is the boot and imune game but every AF has one (or several!) of those and of course their are fan related threads such as favourite member etc, but that is what you would expect from an AF!? There are also threads about Una and Mollies solo music, Frankie and Rochelle's early career as pasrt of 'S Club 8' (:kink:) and I am all for debate and discussion about the band if anybody wants to actually start a sensible one in there rather than the usual 'The Saturdays are $h!t', 'The Saturdays are manufactured' - I think everyone is aware they are a manufactured pop band and IMO is not really the basis for a discussion/debate - Many pop acts in the industry are 'manufactured'.

I'm sorry I find your above post rather pointless and you have totally contradicted everything you have said by requesting a La Roux forum! In your above post you state that by having a Saturdays forum it has taken away debate etc, yet you want a La Roux forum so she 'can be worshipped' and not get any 'negative' posts?! And also you want boot and immune game for 4 leaked songs of hers?!  For everyone's favourite redhead. Sick and tired of the backlash and negative posts she needs her own forum to be worshiped. We can play boot and immunes with her four leaked songs and keep a constant watch on her myspace comments in case anything interesting is said and pass it on. She's very good and importantly female. Whatchu lot think? :cheer:

And is obviously a joke - Hence the reason he hasn't included a poll in the thread ;)
December 20, 200816 yr That thread is quite clearly a Pisstake! And is obviously a joke - Hence the reason he hasn't included a poll in the thread ;) I did read the posts in the thread and realised it was a pisstake but I am just finding it so f***ing boring that people can get over the fact that The Sats have a foum - Its not in people's faces and nobody even needs to look at if they dislike the band so much. Everyone keeps going on that ther in 'no debate' in The Sats AF but I have yet to see anyone attempt to start an acutal sensible debate that everyone can get involved in.

Lighten up! a good post, well said, especially comming from a 'young un' when most of the 'anti' points of view have been from us older buggers.
December 20, 200816 yr We are discussing the position of leader now. If you don't like the Saturdays, then don't visit the artist forum. Simple as. The immaturity of some is a bit of a disappointment :( Everyone keeps going on that ther in 'no debate' in The Sats AF but I have yet to see anyone attempt to start an acutal sensible debate that everyone can get involved in. thats why, admin told us NOT too... there was a similar post from mikey but its vanished... <_<
December 20, 200816 yr thats why, admin told us NOT too... there was a similar post from mikey but its vanished... <_> I meant in the context of just taking the p*** totally. I think all AFs should be prepared to have posts that constructively criticise the artist - this does create debate and this is good for the artist forum. I created such a topic in the Coldplay AF and it was great to see others points of view.
December 20, 200816 yr Author thats why, admin told us NOT too... there was a similar post from mikey but its vanished... <_< It just was a joke too far, you have to draw the line somewhere __________________________ And when its a mod misbehaving, they should know better, its really sending the wrong signals to members.

I think all AFs should be prepared to have posts that constructively criticise the artist - this does create debate and this is good for the artist forum. I created such a topic in the Coldplay AF and it was great to see others points of view. but matt m8, that directly contradicts what you both said! ie dont go there if you dont like them! which prohibits people who dont like them, no matter how 'constructive' their criticism might be. this is the very reason why i initially suggested (part in joke, part in real) that there should be 2 mods, both pro and anti to oversee both 'bum lick' threads along with critical ones. however i now dont think it would work... and i cannot see any appointed mods allowing critical threads.

Yes I am aware of my contradiction :teresa: I am defending the Saturdays here and I don't really think they are that great myself!
December 20, 200816 yr This is all just getting silly. I'm all for debate, but why does every thread/forum have to have a debate in it? As far as I'm aware, this is primarily a music forum, not a debate forum. Surely there can be a debate thread arranged for those of you who seem to want to do it every second of the day... Each individuals tastes differ vastly and everyone has different views on music. I like manufactured pop and I love The Saturdays... The girls and their music, which is why I voted for them to get their own forum. It's just rather silly and childish to throw a strop about them getting a forum. Fair enough if someone had just made the forum and you disagreed with it, but it received the highest number of votes in the poll. It was the most popular choice and earned it's place with the other AF's. Maybe if you stopped b!tching, and really got behind an artist you wanted a forum for, you'd succeed in getting them one. And if some people weren't such sore losers and immature, this 'prohibition' argument wouldn't have even gone ahead. Nobody ever said you had to like them and nobody has stopped you from going to the forum, but I just don't see why anyone would want to waste their time on a band they disliked so much. Apart from them being a genre of music you don't like, I've yet to see a valid reason as to why certain people dislike them.

I completely agree. I can't think of a single act that need their own forum. And i think that most artist forums should be removed. In future i will post topics of new songs (even if i rarely do post topics :P) in the genre forums, even if there is an artist forum. Not only will each thread get more attention but there will be different perspectives and more than one side. Also anyone visiting that forum because of the thread will notice other topics and visit them, creating an upward spiral of activity :magic: :funky: These are the kind of topics we don't need in artist forums: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84814 This is in an active artist forum, but i don't think it should become "self sustainable" It just was a joke too far, you have to draw the line somewhere __________________________ And when its a mod misbehaving, they should know better, its really sending the wrong signals to members. I love it how you literally post a line  This is all just getting silly. I'm all for debate, but why does every thread/forum have to have a debate in it? Apart from them being a genre of music you don't like, I've yet to see a valid reason as to why certain people dislike them. We definately need debates. Sure, not everything needs debates but then again not everything has to be so one sided. I think 90% of forums should be deleted tbh. All remaining ones that aren't pointless should go as subforums in the proper genre forums. Darius Danesh forum is a special case. I went in there to see how active it was, and it was really active :o . However i couldn't actually regonise many members even if they had really high post counts. This sort of applies to some other forums, particularly the Anastacia Forum and Delta Goodrem Forum. The Delta Goodrem forum is different though because the forum doesn't have much activity, and i think because of this most of the members have left, if it was a sub forum in a genre forum then the members would've survived. BTW: Whats happened to the Specialist forum? Edited December 20, 200816 yr by Harve
