Posted December 17, 200816 yr What acts do you think have flopped or haven't done as well as they should have done this year. Hear are my top 5 Madonna - Yes she had a massive number one and got to number one on the album chart but the album didn't sell as well as it was expected to and Miles Away completley flopped and runied her chart record Kaiser Chiefs - Yes they had a top 5 song but it dropped very quickly and their album hasn't sold nearly as well as their last two. Guns N Roses - 14 years of waiting 14 years of hype and the album didn't live up to expectations and didn't sell as well as it should have The Feeling - Their last album sold loads the new album dropped quickly from number one and their singles have flopped massivley Razorlight - Another act that has felt the force of a massive album and the follow up hasn't sold nearly as well and everyone expected Wire to Wire to be big after is started climbing up the i-Tunes chart very quickly but then it didn't make the top 3
December 17, 200816 yr Sugababes - clearly finished for this era after one single Christina Aguilera - very shocking comeback - deserved much better Madonna - her own fault should stick to what she does best Kylie Minogue - her latest underperformed badly. Pussycat Dolls - havn't sold anything like they should have.
December 17, 200816 yr Same Difference - Pop (entered and peaked at 22 and down to 35) - is that alright? Slipknot (why? all its singles flopped and it's album dropped like Iowa...) [added] Edited December 17, 200816 yr by funmaker11
December 17, 200816 yr Same Difference - Pop (entered and peaked at 22 and down to 35) - is that alright? Still sold really well though for a pop act I think :o
December 17, 200816 yr I was going to say McFly, with Do Ya charting at 18, but then again it's hard to measure their success this year with their album having been given away in the Mail on Sunday to 2.3 million people on the Sunday of which their first single One For The Radio charted. It must have affected a lot of things. We'll just have to see how good/ badly they do next year. That's if they release a new album next year, which I'm finding doubtful. I think other stuff went OK for them though, like the tour sales.
December 17, 200816 yr The Feeling - the album wasnt actually all that bad just rather dissapointing when compared to the first. The single Join With Us is one of their best though and definatly should have been 2nd single instead of Without You.

Still need to buy Duffy, Adele, The Saturdays and The Feeling. Kings of Leon too, actually. Gosh, I better get a lot of money for Christmas rather than rubbish I don't want, lol. I'm sure I'll enjoy the Feelings album anyway, I loved their first and have enjoyed all the singles from the new one. Edited December 17, 200816 yr by sasha2

December 17, 200816 yr Sugababes for sure, but we already have that one. Hasnt been great for Oasis either.
December 17, 200816 yr Fratellis, The View, The Kooks, Pigeon Detectives, Zutons, The Feeling, Keane, Snow Patrol etc etc. Also Sugababes, Sandi Thom
December 17, 200816 yr Author The View haven't even released their new album yet. It comes out in January just one single flopped. Although I agree they won't be as big as the last time around
December 17, 200816 yr Sugababes, Razorlight, Kaiser Chiefs, Fratellis...basically all of the 2002-2005 indie phenoms have faltered as pop (Girls Aloud, Pink, Saturdays) returns. Barring Kings of Leon & Coldplay rock really hasnt made much impact this year
December 17, 200816 yr The Feeling - the album wasnt actually all that bad just rather dissapointing when compared to the first. The single Join With Us is one of their best though and definatly should have been 2nd single instead of Without You. I love The Feeling album, infact I love The Feeling  Without You was a horrendous choice of single. I love them, but who's going to buy, and what radio station's going to play, a soft rock ballad about the North Virginia highschool massacre? Turn It Up and especially Join With Us were amazing, but I think the label lost interest in promoting them after Without You. THe video for Join With Us wasn't even funded by the record company... Christina flopped bad too, and Same Difference deserved to do much better. And obviously there's the obvious round of over-hyped indie no-hopers like Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong, who didn't go top 40 with any single, and who's album was so bad, it had to be re-recorded.
December 17, 200816 yr One of the biggest comparative flops would be The Verve: Forth compared to their last one Urban Hymns. Although in fairness after a 11 year hiatus; 5-4-7-9-10- is decent for a lead single and 2 weeks at No1 on the album chart is better than most this year.
