He posted those as he appreciated Kelly's post. Why the  ?

She just posted what everyone else has already been saying. I didn't see why the  was needed LOL.

Well, Kelly made a fair point, so I guess Martin thought it warranted 2 's

:heehee:

I don't think it'll soar that much. They performed it on Take That Comes To Town and it only just nibbled into the top 100 iTunes and then left almost as quickly as it entered. It may get up into the 20's tops! I'm afraid this is going to be a major flop for them. Shame as its the best song they've done since Patience.

I agree. It was a great live performance by them tonight, but how many people are going to download a track when well over 1,000,000 people in the UK have already got it on the album The Circus.

I think it will struggle to do better than I'd Wait For Life chartwise, but we will see.

Good news for Katy Perry fans (Not so good news if you haven't heard her LIVE before :heehee:) She is on Ant & Dec next weekend so should see it climb a bit!

I'm glad someone sees sense and agrees with me. Apart from the stupid length of time between the download release and the physical ... its suffering even more than Britney's (and I'm reluctant to say - deserving) Circus has done for a final chart placement, if it was going to reach new buyers it would have done so by now - probably after their show last December. Flop - but not quite as big as IWFL - it'll probably peak at number 12.

Gary Barlow looked bloody awkward at that piano ... that back injury must be worse than he thinks it is. I hope he still manages that climb with the others.

Should it really matter? 'Only By The Night' has nearly 1.5 million UK owners, yet that hasn't stopped 'Use Somebody' (which also has well over 300k single sales) and 'Sex on Fire' (which is now the biggest selling rock/indie song of the decade!) shooting up iTunes on the back of a TV performance...

You do have a point there Mark - but KoL are the sort of band that after TV exposure will appeal to new/on the fence fans who will go and buy the singles, and TT are not so much these days (and sadly not with this song).

I can't wait! I heard she was performing Waking Up In Vegas, but I hope that's just an error, it'd be pretty pointless to be honest. I hope it's Thinking of You.

You've got a point - but I still think it'll struggle. I think KOL are more appealing to a wider audience than Take That though. I'm just glad it was a good live performance to wash away the memory of the Brits thing! Even though I did like their spaceship idea - I'd have preferred plain singing a song than the unnecessary gimicks - having said that - Greatest Day is such a boring song I think it needed livening up with something.

Honestly I can't see why people despise this song so much. Its brilliant - fun and lively and far better than Rule The World even (as much as I liked that - I'd rather have the simplicity of UAN and Patience.)

:o Really? I heard that was the 4th single :o But I thought she'd be promoting 'Thinking of You' seeing as it's supposed to be released in March... TBH, wouldn't surprise me if they scrapped 'Thinking of You'...

The huge difference betwen Take That is that the Manchester boy now Man Band were already established in the UK as Britain's Premier Boy Band with a lengthy string of UK#1 singles & albums before the release of their latest album. In otherwords they already had an established fan base who have already bought their material because they knew who they were from previous efforts.

In stark contrast Kings Of Leon had a smaller fanbase and were less established to the Great British Public whose biggest hit before the release of their Only by the Night album & Sex On Fire single was the track Fans which reached UK#13 in 2007.

I don't dislike it that much, it just doesn't really grab my attention. Rule The World is a future classic imo, and possibly the best song of their comeback era.
