Ive just seen the trailer to this and it looks amazing. I read the book for the Da Vinci Code and when the movie came around I was dissapointed at parts being missed out and thought better direction could have made it much more powerful. The sequel is out on the 15th May.

 

Anyone read the book for this, planning to watch it?

I read the book last month - it is way better than the Da Vinci Code and the storyline is superb.

I read the book round about the time that The Da Vinci Code came out as i was waiting to read The DVC but the library only had Angels and Demons and i liked it a LOT. Its one of the first books ive read from start to finish for years on my own free will :lol: Although i have yet to see/read The DVC, im looking forward to seeing this and how they managed to turn this into a sequel when i believe the book is a prequel?

Yes it is a prequel in so much that it is set before the DVC - ie the first Langdon book. The third Langdon book is due out in December, but they are not like a trilogy, just have the same lead character.

Ooh I much preferred the book of this to the Da Vinci Code, so I can't wait for the film! :wub:

This looks so much better than DVC, I've read the book a long time ago, I need to read the book again before I go and see the film, I'm looking forward to seeing it, the trailer for it looks excellent.

Yep read it and adore it. Very excited for the Movie, I just hope they dont mess it up in the same way as Da Vinci Code. Which is probably the only Tom Hanks Film I've seen and not enjoyed.

The Da Vinci Code as a film was a total shambles.... Acting from Tom Hanks was not particularly good, and probably the only time when it actually sprang into life was when Ian McKellen was on the screen.. Hopefully Angels and Demons doesn't have the same director.....

Nah, Angels and Demons is going to be a great film - it is his best book so far, imo.

 

Deception Point is good, I think you have a point about it beinga good TV mini-series.

Nah, i really enjoyed DVC coz i hadn't read the book, so i didn't sit and go. Oh that wasn't in the book, and he didn't do it that way in the book etc. kinda like Harry Potter.

 

So i shall see this read the book then watch it again.

 

Friends of mine who had read DVC didn't like to movie too much, i loved it, and i guessed Apple before the last clues were uncovered etc.

I've read both books but only saw TDC for the first time on Sunday on TV. Will go to see Angels And Demons as the book I thought was the better of the two.

i like the book..and will look forward on how the whole movie turn out..

MUCH better than the Da Vinci Code, although i'm not sure whether I like Dan Brown's twists. I'm sure they come across much better in the books, but in the films they seem a bit forced? Anyway it was a good film, and although its quite long it keeps you interested, although I will admit towards the end I was getting a bit bored!
