As long as its better than the 1000th no.1. How anti-climactic was that?

What was it? Crazy Frog? :P

I'm fairly sure it was Jailhouse Rock by Elvis Presley (re-issue under a different catalogue number, so is technically unique)

It was 'One Night' by Elvis Presley-no one can even remember it! And it was one of the lowest selling no.1s ever, less than 40k in total.

If Alexander Ryback was the 1100th #1 that would be exactly 600 No1s since the last Eurovision track that has been to #1 :o

I take it you mean the winning song - Gina G made No1 with our entry in 1996.

Still at 1096 for another week, the 1100th number one may well be something that hasn't been played yet.

Looking likely the next #1 will be any of the following:

Agnes

re-entry for BEP

Kasabian maybe?

It won't be BEP, they already have the 1095th number 1 with that song. Though it could be them with a new song.

Woah! That is really low! Its run must have been about 2-3 weeks then?

3 weeks if I could remember.

1->20->out of Top 40

Then it re-entered Top 40 for one week.

But, 'One Night' had been a much bigger Hit in 1959, & had sold many, many copies

on Elvis Compilations, over the Decades.

So, its 2005 Chart Run - as the 1,000th No.1 - is not so surprising. It would have been

truly awful had it been a New Single - but, not for a huge Selling 'Oldie'.

It could well be Kasabian for #1097 tomorrow and Pixie Lott for #1098 next week.

I now think it will go something like this (date track goes to #1):

#1097 Pixie Lott - Mama Do (June 14th) :puke:

#1098 Jordin Sparks - Battlefield (July 5th)

#1099 JLS - Beat Again (July 19th)

#1100 Tinchy Stryder ft Amelle Berrabah - Never Leave You (July 26th)

would love for Tinchy and Amelle to get the 1100th number 1.

'When Love Takes Over' should be in there somewhere, it's definitely a massive contender. And I suppose I'm one of the only ones who doubts that Jordin is going to get to number one with 'Battlefield'...
