Her voice and veneer call up Amy Winehouse, but with a punk pop bent, bubblegum pinup style, and an affinity for 1980s rock themes; Katy Perry burst onto the top 40 on both sides of the Atlantic in the late 2000s. She gathered a cult following in late 2007 with the metrosexual-boyfriend-tweaking single "U R So Gay." Her star exploded when she went to the same well again with the dance pop-infused ode to fluctuating sexuality "I Kissed a Girl" (not a Jill Sobule cover), a teaser to the diverse debut, ONE OF THE BOYS. A surprising knack for hooks allowed Perry to sustain a career beyond one-note, and in 2009 she was a major player at both the Grammy and Brit Awards. - HMV

Discussion Thread Here

Yay, Waking Up In Vegas! This song is brill

#19, 8 places higher than TOY and only 15 places lower than HNC and 18 lower than IKAG :D

Also, Chris Mills xP

Breaking The Habit deserves Top 10.

I know, it's like their third best song (of course after the AMAZING What I've Done, and also Numb)

New Divide is fourth, One Step Closer fifth, imo.

KATY PERRY labelled this Radio 1 DJ “super pervy” after appearing on his Breakfast show.

The chart-topper popped in for a chat on Wednesday and ended up with the roly-poly motormouth cuddling up to her for a quick photograph.

Later, on Twitter, mistakenly referring to the jock as Chris Mills, she wrote: “In LDN hanging @ Radio 1 with this super pervy DJ named Chris Mills.

Haha, he thought she really liked him too!

Suits him right!

I love this song after hearing it at Capital FM's Summertime Ball. :D Deserves at least top 15.
Katy Perry  Top 20 is amazing, hopefully this means that she will release another album in the UK.

Chris Mills

Why wouldn't she release another album here?

I wish her album would benefit from this though! :( It really IS under rated!

This is quite boring now although it was great to start with

BTW I'm talking about Eminem

Edited by thEo.

Waking Up In Vegas has got a great summer vibe, I'll never get tiered of it and her album is a great pop record

I still like "We Made You", i love the fun Eminem songs - i hate the serious ones

I actually liked their earlier stuff, they started of well. One Step Closer, Papercut, Crawling and In The End were great. Pts Of Authority was a mess and its definitely their downpoint for me, they never did anything remarkable since In The End. Shadow Of The Day and Leave Out All The Rest are hugely overplayed here :puke2:
Chris Mills :P Ha!

A fat guy who likes dance music and camp Europop. Me :nocheer:

Eminem, down 7 :o

It will be interesting to see where the actual WLTO lands this week. Could it be around #4 like (coincidentally) Katy Perry? :o

BTW, does the video for Breaking The Habit creep out anyone else?

And also the video for What I've Done, while it is a brill video, is kinda scary at points.
