How does that work? Is the points system different for the Best Of?

Rontvia for instance had 4 entries. And Mdice... hmmm i am too scared to think how many entries Ben willl get in this contest   :(

Oh right, yeah

If it was getting to that stage i'd sooner put a ban on all release schedule tracks and suffer the inevitable walk out than to see the contest get so cheap that it's just another multichart

Sorry to disappoint :(

Slightly off topic here but I thought people were allowed to enter what THEY wanted?

if a country has more than one entry i n the finalyou can vote for as many of them as you like

I'm still debating on whether to Boycott Forever Is Over or not. Or if i should vote for it in the semi's if i can't fill my 10 up and full boycott in the final

It's at least worthy of my 10, but Nevio/Cilmi is more likely to win XX than my giving FIO that many points.

Its *suppose* to be a song contest though. Surely you're suppose to vote on the basis of how much you like the song and not on how well known the song or artist is.....

Grammar :kink:

And I completely agree with this. I will vote on whether I like the song, no matter when it's released or not released -_-

Yes, but reasons of going with 'what they want' is most of the time is a stupid need for a good finish. Multichart is on another forum, sorry. It's my opinion anyway. Feel free to call me a hater/pathetic etc :(

*supposed

And you're supposed to vote for what you WANT regardless if votes will be a work of random.org *30-seconds advert comes on :kink: * or a thought out decision :P

And isn't this a contest..? - Meaning you have to kind of "fight" or take strategic steps, etc.. - not sure

Is sending something you know will do really, really good in this contest.. a cheap act?

If so, then most of us could at some time be guilty of that one.. I guess..

Why has all this flared up anyway? As far as I can see theres only one song that would be considered cheap in the contest (and we all know who entered that! hi!)

Thanks Theo. At least someones on the same wavelength here.

OK then Pavel, in the final i'll just vote on the basis of which artist has the best name for their song. And just wont bother listening to the songs. OK?

To be fair, everyone has their own ways and thoughts. Personally I prefer things I've not heard before from new people, rather than songs that I play to death on my own. For me BJSC is about discovery!

*cough* My votes are in!

No No Pavel I really do understand and accept that. But surely nobody can go round saying "NO! LEONA CAN'T BE ENTERED!" Surely it's up to the person who wants to send her or not? Surely it's up to them whether or not they want to risk the "potential" backlash? I say potential as I accept they don't ALWAYs recieve a backlash :heehee:

of course but people get different pleasures (for the want of a better word ) from this contest, for a number of us it's the aspect of discovering new music we wouldn't find elsewhere so it's only natural that people moan if suddenly one month you've already heard most of the stuff in the contest already.. Bleeding Love is generally regarded as one of the songs of the decade so by rights, if it was sent to BJSC by someone, it should be a runaway winner, but it would make a TERRIBLE winner of the contest even if musically it was the best song there  I guess in my head there are unwritten rules of what makes a good BJSC entry, some songs I wouldn't even consider sending no matter how much I liked them, i.e. Madonna's Celebration  but obviously people are entitled to their own opinions on the matter and clashes of opinion are bound to occur on a forum of 50+ people all with their own minds...

Yes, BJSC is about discovery, but surely people should still vote for songs if they love them?

This whole boycotting business seems a bit ridiculous to me. It shouldn't make a difference who the artist is - if you like the song enough to vote for it, vote for it!

agreed 100%

how come everyone else is able to say what I think and mean better than I am without writing essay length posts

I've never boycotted a song though, the nearest I do to 'boycotting' is put the song at the back of a ranking pack. So if there are five 10/10's and one of them is Bleeding Love, Bleeding Love would get 6 points as I'd put it behind the four new discoveries

I agree partly on this basis.

A song contest is more based on different things, isn't it?

Or me, at least, looks at:

1. How good the song is

2. How much I like it

3. How big of a discovery it is to me

Is someone doing something similar btw? Or just from one of these..? :)

This tbh :kink:

I think what people are scared of is this contest turning into a UK future release schedule contest, with people only sending those kind of songs because they know it will do well.
