Hello again, it’s my turn for my second album review. My intention was to select from albums that I owned myself from the 2000’s from three genres; pop, dance and rock. Last time I reviewed a pop album by James Blunt that I owned, this week I am turning my attention to a dance album, although it’s nit your typical sort of dance album but rather a collection of chilled pieces of electronic music. So let’s get started…

Röyksopp are a Norwegian electronic music duo from Tromsø formed in 1998. The duo consists of Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland who met as youths. They formed Röyksopp during the Bergen Wave. After experimenting with different genres of electronic music, the band solidified their place in the electronica scene with their 2001 debut album, Melody A.M., released on the Wall of Sound record label. Melody A.M. was their debut studio album and on 24 November 2009, it was named the best Norwegian album of the 2000s decade by the Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang.

Five singles came from this debut album; So Easy, Eple, Poor Leno, Remind Me and Sparks.

So Easy peaked at #21 in the UK.

Eple peaked at #16 in the UK.

Poor Leno peaked at #38 in the UK upon re-issue.

Remind Me peaked at #21 in the UK.

I know the band by name and pretty sure I'll know some of their songs but they are one of those well known acts I don't know much of unbelievably, as in never checked their music out so this should be interesting to get into for something new and different ^_^
An absolute classic chilled electronic album. Poor Leno is my favourite, though Eple is so influential and probably best known.
I don’t think I’ve ever listened to this artist so this will be a great listenthrough!
Such a great choice, this is a brilliant album. Eple was a No.1 in my chart, I love the video too. Remind Me and Poor Leno are also wonderful.
Eple is my fav track now but for a long long time I only knew Poor Leno, which was everywhere at the time, at least here in Europe, both the song and the video.

I love both 'Eple' and 'Sparks' - played the latter during a warm up at the SyncTube session for my Chill Out edition of Club Bizarre, as it's very relaxing

I've never actually heard the full album though! I only know their Profound Mysteries trilogy in full (they've still got it!) - so definitely interested in a session.

I will absolutely join in this one - totally up my street, in fact I’m off to see them live in a couple of weeks

I am considering Wednesday evening to be a possibility, but it would have to be after 8:30pm as that's when I finish work. The album duration is just over 45 minutes. Hope you can come along then. :)
I listened to this one a while back and I liked it but it's been a while so would be up for a listening session! The singles are all wonderful ofc., Poor Leno especially <3
I think Bal is planning to do BJSC results on Wednesday (I can try my best to multitask but I am usually awful at that x)

We thought the results were today which is why we picked Wednesday (as we all want to be there too!)

Rob, can we pick a different day?

I assumed BJSC results were tonight as well. It's up to Wardy when he wants to do it. His album etc. I'm fine with tonight or another day!
