April 20Apr 20 Author In Juranabaijan, The Kids Are saying that this could well be My First Time winning the Buzzjack Song Contest (or making the Top 3, even)... They're probably wrong, but give our song 'The Kids Are' by My First Time a listen as our fate is no longer in our hands!This entry sees us return to a guitar based sound for the first time since our comeback... We would describe the track as a indie-pop-bop-floorfiller, it has a dancey riff in the verses and an anthemic chorus; this song is #1 in Juranabaijan right now and we hope other people love it as much as we do!
April 27Apr 27 Author My First Time Qualify!Juranabaijan have had their visa approved for entry into the République d'Áskorza to participate in the grand final of the 184th edition of the Buzzjack Song Contest in Morpeth Cove.This marks the first time Juranabaijan have qualified for the final in four consecutive contests (without skipping any). Mayor Juranamo is said to be thrilled at this news, extending gratitude to any countries that voted for 'The Kids Are'!Juranabaijan are hoping to improve on the 19th place that Ally Salort achieved, in the last edition, with 'I've Never Met Her' - this is currently Juranabaijan's highest placement since returning to the contest at the beginning of the year!
May 5May 5 Author My First Time 38th in the Final!BJSC CLXXXIV is officially over and Juranabaijan's entry 'The Kids Are', by the band My First Time, finished in 38th position with, a less than lofty, 101 points.We placed 16th in the first semi final, accumulating 51 points. POPHub gave Juranabaijan their only 12 points in the semi final, so it is possible that they would have been lifted to 35th in the final if POPHub awarded My First Time had voted and again awarded it maximum points.Mayor Juranamo has released a statement: "I am extremely proud of our nation reaching the final for a fourth time on the trot. I would like to thank all nations that have voted for us since our return to the contest. Juranabaijan are considering their options for BJSC CLXXXV, however we do not currently have an entry lined up. We will only enter the contest if we have something unique to share with the Buzzjack World, so we will not enter an artist that has previously been sent to the contest to our knowledge. If we do not find a suitable entry, that the citizens of our country are willing to get behind, we will not enter. It's probably about as rocky as My First Time was, so don't be expecting anything too heavy (if I do go for that one!)I think they're all a bit level ATM. I might confirm one and then have a think (not something I usually do, but I wouldn't wanna lose out on any of them [not that I think there's much risk of that tbf])

Until we swiftly swapped it out for something that wasn't on the shortlist at all!All of these remain on our shortlist in case we are blocked from booking our economy tickets with the song we have submitted. Another song (one of our favourites of all time, no less) has been added to the shortlist as an energetic rock option from the noughties...We don't think it would do very well, and we can't recall it being a Buzzjack fave back in the day, but we're intrigued at how it might fare all these years on with a user base that looks very different to what it looked like when the song came out (much of which may not have heard the song)!
July 6Jul 6 Author The entries for the 186th Buzzjack Song Contest have now been revealed, and it is Florrie that will be representing us with her fabulous new single 'The Times'.The song has been a huge #1 hit on The Juranabaijan 40, despite only being released a few weeks ago. We've noticed a distinct lack of discussion around this song, which is strange to us as Florrie is no stranger to the Buzzjack Song Contest! We're unsure whether this is because the song hasn't connected with the Buzzjack World, or if barely anyone has heard it... Either way, we have broken our rule of not entering artists that have participated previously as we believe this song has what it takes to go all the way!Check the song out below, and be sure to give Florrie points if you love it even a fraction as much as the Juranamese public do!
