Just for fun, what would you prefer to listen to this Sunday, we all know the chart show is limited to an hour this Sunday. Personally I would rather listen to the chart show, there is so much going on with possibility 11 new entries, when none of them are going to get played, apart from the new entries in the top 10.

Only one week & I like most of the acts playing at Big Weekend.. so will be good to hear their performances etc.. but I'm not too fussed either way
Well Reggie isn't going to be there so thats a good thing. On the other hand it just how unimportant the chart is to Radio 1. I have to say I am fed up with this big weekend. Perhaps I'm bitter because I have an exam on Saturday afternoon so I couldn't even think going myself whether I got a ticket or not but to be honest the only person there I'm remotely interested in is Alicia Keys.
Seeing as the Big Weekend will be on all weekend on BBC3, Red Button and radio, I'd prefer the chart back at 4pm. I do like most of the confirmed acts though, so I'll listen
I voted the 2nd option, but really I want them to put it back at 4 and get someone else to do the show.

If I didn't manage to get tickets for the Big Weekend, I don't want them rubbing it in my face by playing it on the radio :P

So I want the chart show

Option 4: I'd rather play with matches - A good time to get my work's (Football) World Cup Predictions organised.

But seriously I'd rather see

Option 5: Get someone on the chartshow who actually seems like they care about the show, rather than wondering in half asleep out of a hot summer's afternoon to present the show with little enthusiasm apart from saying how great all UK Urban music acts are; and how awful all those Glee records are; and talking complete random bollocks that has nothing to do with the charts to guests/listeners who phone in.

In short bring in a Bruno Brookes/Mark Goodier type host when the Sunday Chart Show was the most listened to show on Radio in Europe, rather than some half-arsed "argh do we have to do this" type of show with less than a quarter of the listenership of Chris Moyles.

Greg seems to be somewhat good at this, so they could put Reggie on the midweek show and give Greg the full one at least until they find a good person to hsot the chart show.

I want to host it :o I think I'd be quite good at it (past the fact my speaking voice is terrible + I'm too young anyway :P)

I'd rather listen to the chart show as normal, and those that have entries inside the top 40, that have played at the Big Weekend, they should just play that live version. (2x Alicia please :kink:)

I was under the impression the Radio 1 chart show had become what it has because that's what the controller/producer at Radio 1 wanted. For all I know Reggie probably wants to play all the songs (well, you never know!!! :P ) but is restricted to do what he's told.

If you went there on your first show and played all 40 songs, you'd probably get fired for "nothing applying with working rules and regulation". Smacks of the BBC's decision to get rid of 6Music bespite the fact it's won three Sony music awards recently and is considered to be better than Radio 1. They need to sort out their priorities. -_-

I think the Chart Show should move to Radio 2 and get a different host that plays all 40 tunes.

Chart show please. All the Radio 1 Big Weekend stuff can wait till the 5:19 show, the charts are more important.

I say Bring back Wes to the chart, he wasn't that bad, and at least he'd do the Top 20 albums at the start where now we get the Top 5 when Reggies ready to do them, and at least he'd talk about stuff to do with the chart instead of talk utter $h!te for 3 hours. I don't listen anymore, I just look through the chart on a Sunday evening after 7pm. It avoids alot of frustration.

Couldnt have said it better

I voted option two, I remember last year and the years before that, they played the chart as normal with live performances from featured acts, plus interviews with acts

The fact they've put it to just an hour represents how little they care about the chart, I honestly think that everyone on this forum could do a better job of presenting than Reggie and yet he still isnt going anywhere

But it is what it is- we will get an hour of chat, three quarters of the chart missed (he'll probably play some tracks that they always play eg Alicia keys <_< ) new entries missed and not given a second of thought and just general bollocks

plus the live performances wont sound half as good on the radio as it will there

Susan Boyle retelling the entire Harry Potter series to her cat.

Seriously. I can just get the chart on Buzzjack anyway. Listening to it on the radio was ruined a LONG time ago before that re**** Reggie came along.

Sure if you take all the crap out of the normal chart show there's probably not much more than an hour dedicated to it most weeks anyway.:)
From what it says on the BBC website the first two hours will be pure drivel rather than live performances. So why can't they leave that until after the chart show? If that means we get a proper presenter for the chart show before Reggie Yates takes over with his pointless waffle then so much the better.
It depends, if live coverage of the the big weekend is less irritating than Reggie spouting his usual drivel, while trying to play as little music as possible.
