it will be pretty close- unless Im seriously underestimating XFF's physicals, Ellie is back at number 1 on itunes now, so maybe she could overtake Nicole if she builds up a big enough lead (as Nicole will not have physicals to aid her) but I dont think she'll get number 1 this week unfortunately :(

 

also great to see Coldplay top 30, would be good to see it top 20 by sunday :D

But it's easily their weakest single since I Get Along, so I'm not surprised :( And what was with the screwed up release with it? I'm sure they could have scraped top 40 if they released the CD and download together rather than weeks apart!

 

By the way, it did get top 300 when the download was first released. I think it even got top 100, can't remember where it peaked though.

 

It got high enough to peak at #114 before this week. I agree it's a very throwaway single by their standards though...

 

I'm shocked Duffy is all the way down to #7 now, it's really reminding me of Kate Nash's second album.

Sales are normally there but this week they aren't so 'NO SALES INFO' on it's own would be polite and making the point he would like to make, but his snide comment underneath makes it rude!

But it ALWAYS says 'NO SALES INFO', and that never seems to get the message across as you still get people asking for sales info.

 

Same goes for 'TOP 40 ONLY' at the top.

I'm sure there has been sales info before, and it's not been there at any other time of the week. 'Top 40 only' makes sense, seeing as there are no bitchy comments underneath.

As a fellow chart mod who regularly does the update in this thread and regularly answers requests for positions, etc, I have to agree with Mikey and Bray - if people can't be bothered to read the thread and see the rules (which are quite clear and always on the first page, and always in red, and in fact always on each update in bright red letters) then I don't think there is anything wrong with a mod getting hacked off by someone who is so lazy they can't be bothered to actually read and comprehend the important parts of the thread.

 

Its the equivalent to the iLoons in the iTunes thread - repetitive and frustrating for all those involved. In particular, the regular readers then have to wade through swathes of posts every week asking the same thing which almost always (the last 2 weeks excepted) brings the same answer (which is already there) - no sales info.

 

When sales information IS available, we always make this abundantly clear - anyone who can't see that (not you) is quite clearly thick.

XFF will probably sell a decent amount of cd's on saturday, and late night shopping is going on to.

Point taken :lol: Sorry about that! Re-read through rules and updates and it does say 'no sales info' on every update. And the rules say 'all the information we have is displayed' (along those lines anyway).

 

Then again it does say, 'Please do not write in BLOCK CAPITALS it makes it sound like your shouting and being rude.' Exactly what I thought of M!key. I suppose I don't really know at all, what it's like to be a mod!

I think it's alright. Better than I'm With Stupid and Numb. I also prefer it to Did You See Me Coming? but that's just differeing opinions. I still expected it to creep into the top 40 though, just to keep up the tradition. Neverthemind.

Can't believe XF are still no.1, surely they can't be selling that many physicals? It is getting wayyyy more airplay than YANA and Hero, plus is more commericial imo though. I love it, but wish Ellie got a week at number 1 :( I've a feeling she won't next week either, as either Alexandra Burke or BEP will due to their XF performances

Duffy slipping now in each debate and black eyed peas dropping today.

Shame there is still no sign of nelly furtado in the album chart, its made a more decent start in the irish chart making a #31 debut this week.

 

Coldplay should easily go top 20 or top 15 on sunday which will be great.
