For me, the very first thing you associate with Shakespeare is Romeo + Juliet, no question about it whatsoever. I'm only surprised the landslide wasn't even BIGGER.

Macbeth is really rather good, never read Romeo and Juliet but put it anyway.

I think I chose R+J because this is the only thing by Shakespeare we were taught about. I've understood the story then. The modern version (Leonardo DeCaprio one) is the first thing I watched long ago and I couldn't understand a damn thing.
