February 13, 201114 yr Just missed out top 20 :( I was top 10 at one point! :o Thank you everyone who voted :)
February 13, 201114 yr Utterly spectacular winner - I can't remember the last time I gave the winner maximum points (Darin got my 18 but lost on countback, Sheelah got my 13 last time...so that would mean I haven't given max to a winner since The Spell!) but to my mind there was only ever one winner of this contest when Rich first showed me The Last Time - regardless of who sent it! It's like Psycho thrown in a blender with Better Than Her and enough production glitter to send a horse into a gay coma (Amazing.), so naturally it was the runaway! I'm shocked at Ro's result (not least because it sounded like a guaranteed top five when I first heard it, so to not be in a single person's top three is a real kick in the teeth!) but very pleased I pulled back to the 'respectable' flop position that Kopecka traditionally occupies at 18th/19th! In any case, I'm not TOO put out - I've only twice not managed to follow up a flop with a top five result, and the two times I didn't I ended up with some of the best results streaks going after the second flops, so be warned - I will retain my most successful year-on-year crown in 2011!
February 13, 201114 yr You have competition this time from someone other than Rich. Now that Ashton is finally back on form and back where it belongs in the top 10 with a cracking streak so far [and my next entry is shaping up to be another quality track] it's about time there was a three way fight for the crown between us all.
February 13, 201114 yr Thanks for everyone who voted Palmyra...especially Kingdom Of Shadow  tbh i probably shouldn't have entered with all my exams, so thanks to Rob for accepting my votes like 4 hours late! :D
February 13, 201114 yr Pleased with 11th. Wasn't expecting it ^_^ And Congrats to Rich, although I really didn't like the song. :(
February 13, 201114 yr Grats to Rontvia, USoJ and Botanikka and everyone else who did better than expected and thx to Hendinia for hosting. My 11 pointer won and I am in the top half of the table so I'm pretty satisfied with the result. Thx to Kopecka (for VERY unexpected 15 points :o ), Espen, Isconia, Dalisska, PRoJ, USoJ, Hendinia, Persephonia, Botanikka, Rontvia, New Caprica, Kylienips and Caerfyrddia.
February 14, 201114 yr Fifth place is extremly pleasing indeed. I did think it was bound to do well to be honest but still, always nice to do well (though to be honest, I ALWAYS tend to think I'll do well even when I flop horribly). A great winner and actually a great set of results too.(and thanks Rob for accepting my very, very late votes aswell)
February 14, 201114 yr Oh WOW! 8th? :o  THANK YOU ALL! Incredible winner and general Top 10/15 though I feel! :o Definitely one of the strongest ones in recent times.
February 14, 201114 yr Not too great....at least we weren't in the bottom section. The winning song is ok...Sheelah came close to getting points from me. However it missed out because I thought it was a bit samey and sounded like other scandipop I've heard countless times before. I like scandipop, but moreso when there's a bit of a twist. :P
February 14, 201114 yr Thank you to everyone who voted for Streamer Bendy! I really thought I could at least get a top 15 as You're so cool has this Margaret Berger/Eva & The Heartmaker/KillaBite aroma about it.. But with all these quality tracks this month it proved to be quite difficult. I managed to sort of scrape into the top 20 again though, which is the minimum results for me to be satisfied. ALTHOUGH I won't let my results fall even further now (13-18-20).. I'm so going for that top 10 next month.. or at least a top 15, for sure! Great show Rob, amazing contest, and congratulations Rontvia! :cheer: The last time is indeed worth some  smileyes! :D
February 14, 201114 yr 24th WOO. 'gratz Rontvia even though the song was terrible. Actually the whole Top 10 bar Espen, Lorikeet, Botanikka and to less extent Numayania was bad.
February 14, 201114 yr When did you turn into such an indie bitch Pavel? D: Like, two years ago you'd have been ALL OVER the whole top twenty.
February 14, 201114 yr When did you turn into such an indie bitch Pavel? D: Like, two years ago you'd have been ALL OVER the whole top twenty. Some people's taste in music genres change over time? Edited February 14, 201114 yr by Casey__
February 14, 201114 yr Some people's taste in music genres change over time? Quite, but I've rarely met anybody who did so so extremely that in the space of two years a load of stuff they'd have LOVED before would just be dismissed as 'ear rape', 'vile' etc.
February 14, 201114 yr When did you turn into such an indie bitch Pavel? D: Like, two years ago you'd have been ALL OVER the whole top twenty. Like you said, it was two years ago! I love me some good pop track (Neon Hitch - the beat in chorus is incredible, Lauren Taveras - the chorus is INSANE! <3 Ojnoj was good too - loved the singer's voice), just don't give me every piece of hook-less 3-minute howling any average girl group records (Underwear, The Last Time - to the least extent). Don't even get me started on that Rebound 'group'. They are the definition of the word 'cheesy'. I may be harsh but that is only my popinion, so don't take it too personally. After all if you don't like my song for some reason - 'tis ok. Soz i had a bad day xxx
February 14, 201114 yr Normally it's a lot more gradual however. It WAS gradual. Whereas i was up in charts' ass COMPLETELY, 2008 showed some signs of indie (Santigold, Camille, Bloc Party, Foals, Deerhunter, etc.). 2009 - Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Slow Club, Micachu, jj, Crystal Castles, etc. 2010 - practically everything in my YE chart was somewhat 'indie'. And ESC. Which is the token for each year! You can't JUST change your music taste in one week, it'd be strange. Imagine Phil in convulsions listening to Deerhunter, Destroyer or Women all of a sudden tomorrow.
February 14, 201114 yr Hook-less? We can't have been listening to the same tracks as both Underwear and The Last Time have hooks [one more trashy than the other] Unless you've attempted to say that most of the pop tracks were hook less, with Underwear and The Last Time being exceptions....

Even though Scandipop and Eurodance is what i'm really loving i haven't turned my back on all the stuff i used to like. So my music taste has grown really rather than changed entirely.
