Why do you think that?

We didn't ban Neon Hitch.

Banning everything that has had a little bit of hype on Buzzjack would leave us with next to no entries each month  It's finding that fine line between hyped because it's actually orgasmic and hyped because it's going to be number one in 5wks time.

Quite, but there's a difference between a little bit of hype and an all-out war between 10 countries in an attempt to get it

Tbh I dropped Helena as soon as I saw plenty of people were interested in her, pretty much like Fefe last month. No point in sending something nearly everyone else is aware of imo.

I'd win each month by default

I can just can tell I'll be kicking myself for not getting to Helena first when she wins!

So Helena will win? I haven't heard this Helena song to be honest....I'll have to check it out tonight.

In that case maybe we should just skip straight to BJSC 33. :P

Edit: I'm loving this new music blog I just discovered, I swear looking through this blog it's like I'm set for the next 12 contests.

But like Tirren stated, there's a difference between being hyped and being considered by a bunch of other countries to get used. I understood the non-banning of Neon Hitch, but I personally would call for a ban on Helena. (Even though I really don't get the mass hype surrounding it personally. It's good. Nothing more)

So if 10 people tried to get Helena....

I'm not saying they'll all definitely give her an 18 but if they do that's 162 points, and that's not even taking into account that there will be others that didn't consider sending it that would give her high marks too.

I listened to Helena's song last night, I don't really get the hype either....it's a bit bland.

We're back to 12 points as the max this month. But I get your point. It's basically already got a LOT of points guaranteed before the contest even starts. It's a hard one to try and justify banning because it's just a popular song around these parts, it's not 'cheap'. It's the same as White Light Moment and We Should Go Home Together - difference is, neither of these ever ended up in the contest (which is ironic seeing as every other bloody thing Le Kid have done has, and that's easily their best song imo!).

Correction - no-one sent Oh My God yet :kink:

If I may, I would ban Helena's bland (imo) track.

It's just that everyone's aware of it now, and it's clearly a crowd pleaser, so there's no point really in bringing it to the contest since we all know how it's gonna go down.

Aren't we supposed to bring new stuff to the table? Either way it would be certainly more interesting that way.

I thought about participating with White Light Moment this contest but ultimatly decided against it because everybody's aware of it and everyone seems to like it so there's no point really.

It would be a cheap entry, like "Cara Mia", it just ends up being lazy.

12 points coming back

Didn't you send Cara Mia?

Just about to send my entry (again), this should be very experimental for BJ standards, it's really quite something. And I don't really care how well it does, I just want you to be 'aware' of it.
I think I'd ban Helena too! When I was thinking of sending it, I never knew it would have so much hype! :drama: I couldn't even be bothered to try and claim, but I'm happy with my entry now! ^_^ I was thinking of sending something that wasn't typical Buzzjack (ie I dared to have a male in it! :o) but as it's my first contest I just want to finish well, so I'm going for Buzzjack fodder which I'm hoping will grab big points! ^_^ Maybe in 2 or 3 contests time, I'll dare to stray away from female pop! :P
I haven't listened to Helena's song yet so if someone enters it - it'll be a discovery pour moi! :D
I've listened up to the first chorus, it's okay, and I can see why BJ loves it so much, but it's nothing special. I think some people are just wanting to enter it because it's been the main talking point of this contest so far, and that it 'appears' that everybody likes it.

Basically, it's a female version of DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love  I'm already over it to be honest...same as I was with that song after a couple of weeks.
