There's absolutely no way Jessie J is gonna close an 18k gap. (albumswise)

I agree, the gap is only going to get wider as albums released in any week always tail off by the end of the week in comparison with those albums that have been out for longer.

I hope Jessie J gets to #1 by Sun! Don't get me wrong I LOVE Adele and her NEW album (I got a copy hehe) but as another memeber sed on here, it's time for a CHANGE lol!

I'm getting Jessie J's NEW album on Fri :) x

Listen to the album clips first or YT the songs because for such a strong live performer it really is a very weak album. Not normally agree with the music critics but they seem to all be saying the same thing that there is really nothing much there regarding Jessie and it is not just the usual British thing of building someone up to knock them down. There are at best 3 good songs and the rest just filler.

I think Adele will rule the charts until one of the big names releases she is getting massive radio and music channel support.

Given that Jessie WONT knock Adele off the top spot this week, how long can Adele realistically/feasibly hold onto the top spot for? i.e. when is the next BIG album release? GaGa in May?!

HollyValance Holly Valance

Kiss Kiss is back in the charts today? Entered the midweeks at 186. Chloe Madleys perf on Dancing on Ice resulted in a return 2 da charts.

Not a bad week this week actually, Alexis Jordan surpassing expectations, Lykke Li not doing to baddly at all, HURTS back in the top 20 and whilst I was hoping for top 5 for Clare, the singles holding up so all is not lost. And Jessie J losing out on #1 pleases me a lot more than what it should.

Boring top 10 on the singles, I wonder if Jessie can overtake P!nk by Sunday though?

Brilliant to see Foos top 15, Tiësto and Clare top 20, Breakage top 30 (can I have an exact position for that please?) and Noah And The Whale climbing :D Who's That Chick? is climbing yet AGAIN, this'll be its 14th week top 20 and 12th week top 15 :drama:

Boring album chart as well, but 18k is a massive lead for 21 :o I knew Jessie had no hope of #1 but I didn't expect the gap to be *that* big (although I do want 21 to be #1 again so it's all good :P especially as it'll beat Moby's 5 weeks at #1, what was the last indie album to spend 6 weeks at #1?). I wouldn't rule out '19' taking back the #3 by Sunday, allthough we don't know how far ahead Beady Eye are. Good to see Lykke Li showing up in the top 30 although it'll probably drop out of the top 40 by Sunday. Foos back in the top 40 again with their GH, I wonder what the total sales are like for it now?

Mothers Day is coming up, my guess Adele's album will increase. I was thinking about this earlier, the album could stay at #1 for another month or 2, there isn't anything big to come till Gaga releases, you could easily get a #1 album on sales of 40k or even less at the moment, if Adele trails of after another month at the top. She could easily do over 1,5 million by the end of May at this rate. Her album sales are just astounding at the moment.

Has an album sold over 2 million in just under a year, as Adele could actually do it before the end of the year, if she keeps on breaking records.

Or maybe last years X-factor contestant and robbed of third place Mary Byrne may get the No 1 album when she releases next week.

Leona's Spirit hit the 2 million mark on 20 November 2008, having been released on 12 Novemeber 2007, so marginally over a year for that one.

I can't believe Jessie J is 18k behind i thought her pre-orders would have been high! Adele must be ok around 50k+

C'mon Alexis! Hang in there!

this hype for adele is GRATING on me now. yes, she's talented. yes, she's a good singer. but is her music any different to the dull stylings of susan boyle? nah.

jessie j really deserves to have a number 1 album. -_- adele has had way more than her fair share.

yes, she's a good singer. but is her music any different to the dull stylings of susan boyle? nah.

Adele writes her own songs, so yes, it's completely different to Susan Boyle.

I think it's a very good thing that it's an extremely talented artist who's getting all this huge success worldwide for a change. (No offence to Rihanna, Lady GaGa, BEP etc.). That it's a British artist makes it even better.

Yes, and this also means the UK aren't just known for having Taio Cruz and Jay Sean who turned American, now the rest of the world knows British people are talented. Hopefully more British crossovers will happen soon (Plan B, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J) but not American wannabees like JLS, Chipmunk etc.

on the topic of album releases, Elbow release next week so I think that could finally see a new number 1 there, I honestly hope so as the Adele dominance, whilst its great to see a talented, British artist doing well, is getting a bit boring now :(

anyway, Adele's totally trumping Jessie J :o unfortunate week to release I guess, but still quite surprising given all the hype- Beady eye also not doing that well

on the singles, really glad to see Foo Fighters top 15, Tiesto top 20 and Noah & The Whale climbing :D it is nice to see the Manics so high as well, but unfortunately it will drop sharply over the week :(

Largely predictable mids, didn't expect to see Jessie's album quite that far behind though. I'm assuming Beady Eye are well ahead of "19" but the gap will decrease sharply over the week - I'd have thought "Different Gear, Still Speeding" will still be at #4 at the VERY worst though.

Kinda given up hope on Foos going top 10 unless the video is released quickly, still good to see the GH top 40 again (must be close to 500k sales now?) and the new album will trounce "21" if nothing has done by April 11

For the people asking how long Adele can stay at top of the album charts for, next will be a challenge with new albums from REM, Avril and Elbow among others

think thats more of a reflection of the music in americas charts than anything else.

jessies sales musnt be too bad, remember adele sold 180k last week!!

I can't see any of those challenging except Elbow. R.E.M. might go top 3 behind Adele and Elbow but Avril I can't even see going top 5 - I know all her other albums got to #1 but WTH hasn't exactly been huge

 Of course Adele is different to Susan Boyle - Adele is talented (as in she writes her own music) and a great singer. Susan Boyle is karaoke in comparison. This has given me the best laugh of the day so far - thanks :D

Plus, there is a share of the #1 spot?
