Looks like the UK might become a little like the US now we have the 'on air on sale' system in place, in that songs will peak on the album release week, even if they've been around for a month or more beforehand (see Noah/Avril). Usually though they go back down again quite a bit the week after the album release in the US so it will be interesting to see where Avril and Noah are next week...

Pretty clever she covered TiK ToK since it produced by Dr. Luke (Girlfriend/What the Hell/California Gurls)

I'm so amazed it's still climbing, it's such a fantastic song  I love it soooo much <3 I wonder if it sneak into the top 15 next week :D

Yeah, that's possible.

It's a bit like how post-album singles peak on the single release week (e.g. Wonderman, Eyes Wide Shut, Perfect, etc.).

The UK Top 5 Album Chart

http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/XLCD520.JPG

01 :right: Adele - 21

02 :ne: Elbow - Build A Rocket Boys!

03  Jessie J - Who You Are

04 :right: Adele - 19

05 :ne: REM - Collapse Into Now

I knoow Wheatus isn't in the Top40 but what chart postion have they reached today.

Adele 21 No1 :D

Shame Jessie didn't get a number one album :( But it being up against ADELE was gonna be a toughie...
I've no idea what people are talking about as I'm not listening... but The Script have been a band in various guises for well over a decade now...

I didn't know that- but it charted in 2008, where everyone knew it, so it still would've made more sense to say 2008, the year it charted- maybe he just got confused..

anyway, Elbow only number 2 :( hopefully their sales were good

So Elbow did hold #2, they must have a decent lead then. Highest peaking album for them despite the lack of a hit single. They've officially made the transition into an 'album act'. Surprised to see R.E.M. hold top 5 as well. Still two top 5 albums for Adele :D

Anyway, F**kin' Perfect has grown on me now. ^_^

Never get sick of this song. Pink is still streaks ahead of other female artists imo. I find she's quite underrated these days.

15  (from 11) P!nk - F**kin' Perfect [D]

Label: LaFace

Although Pink rose to prominence as an R&B singer in the classic '90s LaFace mould, a front displayed on her debut CAN'T TAKE ME HOME, it was when she took control of her own image in 2001 that she truly became an icon. While the Linda Perry (4 Non Blondes) composed hit "Get This Party Started" strayed not all that far from her initial dance-pop path, the remainder of M!SSUNDAZTOOD revealed an artist schooled in the punk tradition. Further recordings wandered down multiple paths, cementing Pink's reputation as a genre-bending pop songstress. - HMV

'What the Hell' and 'Perfect' - two rubbish songs that sound like the respective artists could've released them at any point during their career. Totally uninspired and unoriginal.
I wonder if she's going to release 'Heartbreak Down'... Radio 1 playlisted 3 of the singles from Funhouse (out of the 5) but as this is a Greatest Hits album, it's anyone's guess... :S

Plan B with 48 weeks in the top 40. :o

Avril only #9, after three #1 albums. :( Big fall next week then.

Olly  to #17. :D
