In all honesty, I've only heard Kristian Leontious brilliant version. (Well I'd only heard Tracy's the other night - and I liked it! :lol:)

 

I thought the first two went without saying :P

I've never been wild on the song in the first place but I did like Mutya's version a lot actually, the nice subtle production touches and her voice suited it perfectly. Certainly one of my two standouts on that Radio 1 Established compilation, along with Mark Ronson's cover of All I Need To Get By - that was gorgeous :wub:

I was shocked to discover it isn't on iTunes. She'd be making a killing right now! Bloody Crown/Island.

 

They really should have released it as a stand alone single instead of B Boy Baby, would have done far far far better. I agree on the production and her vocals :wub: One of the best things she's done solo.

The percussion in Leontiou's version is lovely, but you just can't beat the original quality wise. And besides, Kristian Leontiou already has a better song in 'Shining' (better in comparison to his cover)

 

 

 

Now that beyonce's new single 'girls' as leaked, i wonder if they will bring it out early on itunes?

Beyonce's single is a hot mess. It's very repetitive and annoying. (Although it's better than the likes of 'Diva' and 'Videophone' etc. But that goes without saying) I think Beyonce is an artist who is better at being generic (ala, 'If I Were A Boy', 'Listen', 'Halo', 'Irreplaceable', 'Radio' etc.) as she seems to put her own stamp on the songs.

I share that unpopular opinion with Silas - Mutya's version is stunning and actually better than the original imo :o And Eric's Videophone joke was :rofl:! I love Bey's new song btw, how it's so unique! :) She is better at generic though, except she always manages not to be too generic and ruin her music. IASF was flawless :wub:

GaGa is really flopping with 'Judas' isn't she?! :o Her video really needs to be 'Telephone'/'Bad Romance'/'Paparazzi' standards in order to sustain any longevity! :( It deserves to do better than 'Born This Way'! :( But I guess that's what you get for trying to hard to be controversial. When it back fires, it WILL backfire!

I do actually genuinely love Video Phone. You can find me saying how much I love it in other threads, and I think I've said quite a few times that it's my 2nd favourite Gaga song. Everything about the song is lush. The orgasm noises, especially. And the music video!!!! AHHHHHH. Beyonce is really hot. :wub: And I always found it cute how Beyonce dresses as Gaga in Telephone, then Gaga dresses as Beyonce in Video Phone. :lol:

 

Kind of gutted that Unorthodox won't get #1 now. :(
