It's not insulting in the slightest, the chart just is becoming less and less relevant to most people. For those it does appeal to, the ease of obtaining midweek info makes the actual show itself less important so he's merely suggesting that Radio 1 are attempting to keep the general listeners tuning in. Whether it works or not is open to debate however. I understand that, but I wish they'd at least try to show that they care at least a little bit about the charts :(
