Arctic Monkeys are 41 and 172. With The Calling still top 40, and Paramore and Coldplay pushing the top 10, we could have situation where we have FOUR rock songs in the top 40. I very much approve of this.

Set Fire To The Rain  #59

Right There #5 & #34 :o

Coldplay doing well hanging in on #3.

Surprised Fast Car still in top 10 with how competitive the chart is right now.

Paramore #11 :o Havent even heard the song yet.

Dont Stop The Party  #15 BEP

SuperBass #17, could this be her biggest hit? Where did Moment For Life peak on iTunes/officially? But this is her first SOLO song and its actually doing quite well.

Rolling in the Deep still #35 :w00t: (#1 in US still  :D incredible!)

WHY DON'T WE ALL TAKE A MINUTE AND WATCH SHAKIRA POLE DANCE.

I don't even care how bad the song is.

For a woman so intelligent why does she behave like a slut to sell her music?!

She just wants to match the cheapness of the song. :o

we could see a rock song in the itunes top 10 for the first time in a long time, i think paramore have a great chance

Erm, we already have one... Coldplay much :P

Anyway, WOW @ Paramore :o Poor Dev constantly being pushed down from #11 though.

 43. How to Love - Lil Wayne

I think it's the latter in most cases. It's all down to the management skills, artist's profile and label connections (e.g. mostly Sony acts on X-Factor). Let's just imagine how much would the promo on, say, BGT would cost? 50k? 100k? If yes, those money won't probably be even recouped, let alone make any profit, see Avril Lavigne. Of all BGT performers this year, I can see only Nicole getting some profit if the label/management paid for it. Besides, a performer attracts additional viewers to a TV show, how could we measure that and how should affect the deal price?

And there's no point for a TV show to accept the offer price lower than the mentioned 50k, they make much bigger money from other advertisement etc. I also can't see why the TV show itself should pay anybody for the performance, as the artist wins too, with promo and exposure. So... I think it's the deal without making any money for either sides.

The time has never been better for Top of the pops to return, or at least another chart based show like it. To stop Cowell manipulating the charts every Autumn.

The song is AMAZING  It would just be nice if someone would download it now.

Oops forgot about Coldplay, at least if they make it into the top 10 you will be happy after your views on the paramore evanescence discussion of last week :P

Yup - interesting how me mentioning those two bands has caused the spontaneous reappearance of both :kink:

Paramore  #11 (and now preventing Dev from getting top 10 lol)

It looks like those several members of the group quit for nothing, and in any case, the cute Hayley Williams will always be the main focus.

However, the main thing this week is that there's significant action in the singles chart, after several weeks of stagnation...

Would you mind mentioning Katie Melua & Lucie Silvas, then... :w00t:

I haven't heard Paramore's new song, but I'm glad they're having another hit.

 28. I giorni - Ludovico Einaudi

I hope this makes the top 40. It's got to have been years since a classical composition made the T40 :o

 63. Starlight - Wonderland :o
Probably Loose Women. I know they were on it today, but I don't know whether they performed or not.

I second this. It's such a nice song, and with all the piano ballads doing well in the chart (Adele, Birdy etc.) if R1 give it some support it would be nice to see it have some sucess. Of course that's probably not going to happen :( But top 40 would be amazing, instrumentals are very rare these days.
