PLEASE let Maroon 5 overtake Wretch32! :(

I'm hoping and praying for a Riverside/Replay situation whereby one starts off stronger than the other but slows down quickly just in time for the other to capitalise officially! It probably won't happen though, is Moves Like Jagger even playlisted anywhere other than Radio 2? I'm surprised that so many people know about it!

Why is Sunlight credited as 'Sunlight (2011)'? Is it a remake of an old song?

Bré's pointless chart fact of the day (#2):

Wretch 32 overtaking Nero to the #1 (assuming he does so) will only be the second time two 'Sound of 20xx' longlisted acts from the same year had consecutive #1s, the other being when Razorlight's 'America' replaced Scissor Sisters' 'I Don't Feel Like Dancin'' in 2006 - both of them had placed in the 2004 longlist. :D

It's happened a few other times with acts from different years though, most recently of course when Adele (2008) replaced Jessie J (2011).

I don't think any major radio stations (other than Radio 2 as you said) have playlisted it (yet). I have a local station called BRMB which plays it a bit though.

It's like a less extreme version of The A Team. I think Moves Like Jagger could have good longevity solely based off the fact that I think there's still so many people out there which haven't heard the song, so it'll keep selling for a while as people start to discover it, I think.

I've heard it on some random local stations and the random ones you get on Sky near the end of the channel list but apart from that, I don't think the 'big' radio stations except for Radio 2 are playing it.

I wonder what Wretch 32's longevity will be like this time regardless of getting no.1. IIRC his other 2 dropped out the top 10 fairly quickly. The again Don't Go is very different. I just want Maroon 5 and Christina to get there as they truly deserve it and it would definitely shake the chart up a bit.
I can see Wretch 32 falling out of the top 40 quite quickly (i.e. in about 2 or 3 months). Not saying it's a bad song, but I think it's another one of those cases where everybody who might want to buy the song should really know it already.
Indeed so. What a copycat name. :D

It's like Amy Winehouse - (Aimee) Duffy all over again!

I really like the DJ Fresh remix of 'Don't Go'. Although he's going even more far away from his "classic" D&B sound, it's nice to hear this house-y track from him. The only flaw (but a big one) of the track that it sounds a bit empty. But that I would apply to the main version too.

I don't like the Maroon5 track but I have always didn't like their music, this new one just isn't an exception.

Maroon 5 may not be high on playlist charts, but I've just you tubed the song and it's had over 9million views :o

I must be tuning in to music channels/radios at the wrong times because i've never heard much of these new releases (Don't Go, Moves Like Jagger, Heaven) and still haven't heard that A-Team song, haven't heard Jar Of Hearts, haven't heard Promises, Little Bad Girl or Pumped Up Kicks. I'm looking at the top 20 and feel like I don't have a clue what half of them are. :o

I think the reason for that is the women showing their breasts in the music video.

Not true at all. The edited (clean) version has 3.1 million views whilst the version you're talking about has 1.2 million views (explicit version).

Also, I think he/she is talking about the lyric video which has 9 million views. The music video for MLJ only just premiered on Tuesday this week.

Well, it was embedded in a thread in the pop forum, so blame whoever posted it there. :kink:

But also, in the video statistics, it says:

Audiences

This video is most popular with:

Gender Age

Female 13-17

Female 18-24

Male 25-34

Maybe the girls are watching it for Adam then.

I only heard the Wretch 32 track yesterday - I think I prefer Unorthodox, this is just a little bit dull, but its nice enough, that would be four straight number 1s in a row, all held back releases! that's the most so far this year I believe,

I haven't heard Moves Like Jagger yet, but I do hope it can make the top 3 along with Emeli Sande, as that would be the first all new top 3 of the year, and would make a nice clearout and interesting - Maroon 5 and Christina getting this big again was something I never really thought would ever happen again tbh

We might have a brand new top-3 this week, as I think all of three new top-10 entries will get there. The only thing is sales, I think they will still be relatively low, maybe 60-80k for Wretch 32. Nero sold about 40k+ this week, which is very ridiculous, I stand from it.

And Modestep have a small chance of getting into the top-10 too.

The Sunday chart looks out of date these days as most weeks we all know what will be number 1 the next.
