I can only think of one song off the top of my head that charted higher as an album track than as a single (Hard by Rihanna, mainly because it started to get promoted on the radio and MTV as the 2nd single for a while).

Yeah. It peaked first-week at #11 from cherry-picking iirc. Blah Blah Blah was the same situation as Best Thing I Never Had. A quite rare situation where the album release comes between the date the song gets sent to radio stations, and the release date of the single. I probably wouldn't count them, because they were already being promoted as singles when the albums were released, and they entered the chart.

'Illuminated' by Hurts went top-75 on album cherry-picks and then did nothing when was released as a single.
