In 1994, All 4 One spent 7 weeks at no.2 with 'I swear' behind 'Love is All Around' by Wet Wet Wet.

I'm sure that you are thinking of 'I'm too Sexy' by Right Said Fred which spent 6 weeks behind

Bryan Adams in 1991.

Ah, I was thinking of All-4-One but I got mixed up with who they got stuck behind. Still, surely it's happened at least once more in the nearly 17 years since All-4-One?

I know it's highly unlikely and it will slip in a day or two but I would LOVE it if Iris were to bag a number 1.

However, i'd be just as happy with top 5

Latest LPB update has Maroon 5 down to ~94.6% of Iris' top version (~89% of Iris combined). Sak Noel's top version is ~71.5% of Iris' top version, ~91.2% of Iris with both combined.

Summary:

Iris 100%

Sak Noel 91.2%

Maroon 5 89%

I suspect Sak Noel will be easily #1 on tomorrow's mids, GGD probably at 3 or 4 with Maroon 5 at #2 - but it's still unpredictable at this stage what the top 3 will look like on Sunday as we don't know how well Iris and Loca People will hold up.

I can't complain with the top 3 at the moment really, Moves Like Jagger and Loca People (for my sins!) are pretty much my favourite songs around at the moment and Iris is a stone cold classic from my favourite ever year musically and very deserving of finally getting a decent UK peak.

I'd be marginally happiest with Moves Like Jagger getting the #1 purely because it's getting laughable that it hasn't got there yet and is bringing back too many bad Better Off Alone missing out related memories. But it looks like it could well end up at #2 AGAIN, or even #3! Maybe next week...

I think the order of the top 3 will only really become clear on about Thursday or Friday. Tomorrow's mids may shed some light but like I say I suspect it'll be Sak at #1, Maroon 5 #2 and GGD between 3 and 5. If GGD are already #2 then they have the best shot of staying #2 (or being #1 if them being #1 on iTunes can net them a nice lead!), it's all down to Sunday sales really as Iris only had about 3 hours of sigificant sales on Sunday.

And we thought it'd be a boring week  Never thought I'd thanking the twat but thank god for Frankie Cocozza shaking it up!

I'm pretty sure Sak has it in the bag this week as I just don't think Iris will hold up well during the week - whilst Iris at number 1 would be AMAZING and quite extraordinary really, it looks a certainty to stay top 5 and maybe even become this years MYFML so all's good really :D

However, its great to finally have an interesting week in the charts

Don't forget there's more than one version of Maroon 5's song, too...

There aren't any in the top 100 though so I can't combine them. Both Iris and Loca People also have other versions (Iris has a third in the top 200) as well. I also can't factor in Sak's EP sales.

I think the influence of the X Factor this year is really bigger than at least last year. Every week we have an X-Factor-related song, and we thought I would get down with the new panel of judges!

Its amazing seeing Iris at #1, its not just down to Frankie, a few performed it. Cant believe its #1! I love how Iris & Cannonball have been boosted so much by The X. :D

and breakeven #43!

Jealousy down to 18 within a couple of hours :(. Seems the price reduction effect is over :( Oh well it was good whilst it lasted :D

I wish 'Breakeven' would break into the top 10 and re-peak! :( But maybe it's TOO recent to have any proper sort of effect. I think it's the modern day 'Iris' and will eventually get a new peak in maybe 5 or so years time?
