Ah, last I heard Cry Me Out and Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh) (and maybe Boys And Girls as well?) were all just above the 200k mark, but I can't remember how far into CMO's run this was so ~300k could be right. AAT could definitely still beat that, I think it could sell 400k in the long run.

And I'm most certainly not 'eternally wise' when it comes to chart predictions  I get them wrong more than anyone else! You're thinking of gooddelta who always expects the unexpected.

On a completely unrelated note that no one cares about, the single version of Example's 'Changed The Way You Kiss Me' has eclipsed the album version again after having completely vanished from the top 100 a few weeks ago (they're currently #88 and #91 respectively). Does anyone have any idea why this happens? It's happened with a few other songs as well where one version inexplicably overtakes another version. 'Where Them Girls At' single version also re-overtook the album version for no discernible reason last week.

Sometimes there's a website or someone on Twitter links people to iTunes to buy a song. So may a famous person on Twitter has tweeted a link to the single version of CTWYKM.

This is sooooo random but I was watching the first episode of Glee and was wondering... did 'Don't Stop Believin' by them ever get to number 1 on iTunes??

No, the highest Glee Cast have ever got on iTunes is #2, with Don't Stop Believin' and Total Eclipse of the Heart. They've had lots of different songs get to #1 on US iTunes though.

I think with the combined versions (according to Live Pop Bars) Iris is number 1 now or just off :o that would probably be my favourite since Beautiful Day ten years ago for me  although Loca People seems to be picking up speed now so they should get number 1 combined soon
Yay for Loca People  Number one this week please, after looking at combined total I think there's still hope!

Was the last time a song used/ sung by a contestant to get to UK official number 1 - Singing in the Rain by Mint Royale? [when George Sampson used in twice on BGT]

I know other songs have resurfaced that have been sung/ used - but isn't that the only one to go officially to number 1.... or am I speaking rubbish???

I wonder if Iris could get number 1 come sunday - if it topples MLJ then it could get a lead by just being at the top spot

I'd be happy with Iris at number 1 tbh, it's not the best song in the top 10 but I do quite like it, it's an undeniable classic and I prefer it to MLJ and LP. Just a shame it took a twat's shit performance of it to do so well! It will DEFINITELY trail off though anytime now.
MLJ or Iris for no.1. Anyone whose buying Loca People should see a doctor.

no, I don't believe there has ever been another song topping the charts purely out of that exposure :o (although I do recall sales and new releases were pretty bad at that time)

How many top 10 hits have there been from XF/BGT exposure? Singin' In The Rain, Sex On Fire, Make You Feel My Love several times, Don't Stop Believin', Fast Car, Cannonball, now Iris... any others? (Stay nearly did it as well)

For fans ol MLJ (like me!) surely the danger isn't from The Goo Goo dolls, which as you say will surely start to tail off soon but Sak Noel.

MLJ will show a very slight decline day on day but should be well ahead of Iris by week end. The danger is that Sak Noel isn't just front loaded but stabilises and starts selling more consistently.

Personally I think Maroon 5 will do it with a reasonably comfortable margin.

I'm sure 'Listen' went to #8 after Alexandra performed it with Beyonce.

I'm genuinely shocked 'Iris' is looking to top the charts due to that Frankie character. He sung it HORRIBLY (and it wasn't even a prime time spot, it was in the middle of the show for five minutes)

Ah, that's right. Forgot about Listen. So that's 8 of them at least (6 of which reached the top 10 for the first time, with one of the other two getting a new peak).

Don't sometimes the original or other versions of the winners single go in the top 10?

I suppose I could count Many Of Horror. I won't count Hallelujah though as that was also helped a lot by a Facebook campaign (Biffy had one too but I don't think it really made a huge difference). If you do count both that puts the total up to 10 (9 reaching new peaks, 8 in the top 10 for the first time).

THIS. I have no idea what people like about him. Good reason for Maroonia to beat it to #1 :)

I'm pretty sure Loca People will still be No.1 this week, it'll gradually climb as the week goes on, with the other two versions helping. I just don't see MLJ ever getting to the top -_-

There's no new releases to stop M5 next week, Florence + The Machine may go low top 10 but that's it IMO they'll definitely get #1 next week even if Sak Noel does stop them this week.
