Bruno Mars selling well right now (well always has to be fair). Happy Joe up again on the albums. I'm not a fan but quite happy its not a disaster for Nicola. She gets a lot of stick.

Pleased for Nicola, though I'm not a fan of that kind of music. Saw her interviewed on BBC Breakfast news & thought she came across very well. Am I right in thinking she had a hand in writing the album.

shocked she has climbed although one of the other new entries fell below her i think. still as long as she stays top 20 that would be an achievement.

Oh well. He's on BBC Breakfast at 8.50 Thursday morning, so hopefully that gives him a slight boost.

 

I thought he was poor, especially the first clip at Oxjam. Very weak singing! Perhaps he is better in a bigger venue - an Oxfam shop is hardly rock 'n' roll is it?

Joes far to young to be judged like that yet. I was just joking btw ! As you can see I like Will but am surprised this album hasnt sold better than it has. His own show on Prime time Saturday night TV didn't give it as much of a boost as I thought and it has had great reviews too. Maybe he's alienated some of his older fans with the change of style. Which Joe did originally too.

I'm not fussed who's selling less or more between Will and Joe, hell even Shayne Ward was selling more than Will a couple of years ago and so were G4, nothing's ever assured in the music industry today and so even though Joe's higher than Will at the moment, he's just setting off on his career journey and nobody lnows where he'll be in a couple of years. So let him enjoy it as it might all go tots up on his next album.

Have to say I don't get this music snobbery (sorry but that's how it comes across) from some. No one is holding a gun to anyone's head to buy a single or album. I'm sure for most people, if they like it enough (from airplay, samples, etc) they'll buy. Personally I don't give a stuff whether the artist has written the track(s) or not (a good singer may not necessarily be a good song writer anyway) or whether the artist is perceived as 'cool' or not - I judge by what sounds good to me, what I think I'm likely to enjoy hearing time and again. Maybe I'm in the minority though.

 

Of the 3 most recent albums I bought, Joe's Classic is my most played, followed by Maroon 5 (I'm another who's gutted they keep missing out on the #1 slot for MLJ), followed by Will's Echoes. I'm delighted that both Joe & Will are standing their ground in charts which are currently very fluid. I only wish Hands All Over had remained higher in the charts too, it's a great album.

Hands All Over is a really great album.

 

Can we drop the Will/Joe stuff? It's not even as if either album is going to be no.1 and they're both doing better than was initially expected so well done to them both. Can we please go at least 24 hours without posts like 'I'm so happy Joe's higher than Will' or 'Will is more credible than Joe' blah blah blah?
