This is falling too fast :(

I do wonder without CCN or playing every song, exactly what is taking their places?

4 weeks top 40 for a rock band is pretty fantastic in this day and age (obviously Foster The People and Noah And The Whale managed to rise well above that though) so it's great to see it happening with such a fantastic song.
No celebrity chart numbers crap theses days!!! There IS a God!! :D

They finished it two weeks ago ;)

I just noticed...My 1000th post!! :party2:

Congrats

This certainly seems to have held on well, considering it never actually cracked the T20. Wonder whether X-Factor USA is doing anything in terms of it's sales, but the likes of Nero, The Wanted and JLS have all had significantly worse chart runs this year.

I'd liken the chart run of 'Wet' to 'Dirty Talk' - with another similarity being the explicit references.

I think rock band songs always seem to be very frontloaded, even with Coldplay, they debut high and then fall rapidly. The reason Foster The People & Noah & The Whale hung about for ages was because they don't have big fanbases at all.

Discussion Thread Here

Looks like 'Heaven' has now overtaken 'Don't Go'. Took until week 7 though which is surely far more than most people expected.

Don't Go isn't actually having that bad a run at least in comparison to some other #1s.

'Don't Go' is such a non-#1 to me. Hadn't heard it or seen it anywhere before release, it went to #1, I saw it on a few music channels, it started falling from #1 and now i've barely heard it.

Yeah, Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall initially spent just two weeks in the top 40 (although it had 6 more after Glastonbury/the release of the digital EP).

'Paradise' actually could have had a pretty decent chart run if it was allowed to chart, today would have been its third chart week and it's still #19 on iTunes. ETIAW was well out of the top 40 at this point!

I get back and I get Rizzle Kicks as my first one that I hadn't heard scrambled in the car radio! :D

Anyway, good to see it isn't falling as much as last week.

And Leona isn't having a very good run at all, is she? :drama:

Winner of the third season of THE X FACTOR, England's leading reality-TV talent show, R&B/pop singer Leona Lewis quickly rose to international stardom with the release of her 2007 debut, SPIRIT. With its accessible, Mariah Carey/Whitney Houston-like sound, the album topped the charts in both the U.K. and the U.S., a rare feat, particularly for such a young artist. Lewis's catchy single, "Bleeding Love," written by Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic) and Jesse McCartney, also reached the Number One spot on the charts of every major country on the globe, cementing her status as a true pop phenomenon. - HMV

You know, that annoys me a lot more than if it had just flopped and had an ETIAW type run. It feels like the song is being cheated.
