By the way, what is that Katherine Jenkins album in the top 30? It's not in the new release schedule, her new album is out next week and it's titled 'Daydream', not 'One Fine Day'

The album that charted today is a rehash of old stuff she released on Decca I believe. She has been publicly telling fans not to buy it because it's being promoted as her "new" album when there is no new material on it. She is now with Warner Bros I think.

I bet NOBODY knows Macca has an album out! I didn't and I work in the business.

Its probably because its a classical album. This one will be his highest charting one to date.

Other new entries in the album chart this week include Roots Manuva’s 4Everevolution, Union’s Siren’s Song, Justin Lennon’s Everything Changes, Paul McCartney’s Ocean Kingdom and Camo & Krooked’s Cross The Line.

I'm surprised no one spotted the mistake from the MW report. its Julian Lennon

Great to see The Answer in the Top 20, quality classic-rock band, would recommend them to anyone who likes Led Zeppelin. Jimmy Page is a fan!

As for next week I don't think Evanescence will be anywhere near the top spot, unfortunately. It's highest placing on Amazon right now is No. 75 for the basic album, the deluxe edition is even further behind at No. 157. Rock/metal albums traditionally aren't pre-ordered as much as others so those numbers will definitely spike next week, but even albums like Opeth - Heritage and Mastodon - The Hunter were much higher than that the week before release.

Finally, Maroon 5 will get the #1 spot their song deserves. Too bad that Love The Way You Lie never managed to. It's probably the #2 single that deserved to get

#1 the most, ever.

I'd love it to happen, but I reckon Rihanna has it in the bag this week. Anyway most great songs stall at no.2. LTWYL outsold everything else last year despite never making it to the top spot.

True, although you could say Ultravox's "Vienna" deserved it as much as it was stopped by terrible $h!te :puke: and even outsold it by the end of the year. And, unpopular opinion I know, "I'm Too Sexy" should've been a #1 but the boring Bryan Adams hit beat it for 6 weeks running.

And unless Rihanna under performs Maroon 5 will never get that #1 (but I doubt their record company cares as it outsold all the songs that beat it to #1 both in the UK and worldwide)

I still think Maroon 5 will be No 1. Rihanna is NOT going to beat their sales in 4 days..
Oh don't get us started with all the great "shoulda been number ones" #2s...because somebody would mention Saturdays VERY SOON

The Saturdays only have two #2s, one of which was a charity song and the other of which was a song that has probably been largely forgotten about even by the BuzzJack masses. I don't think even the most dedicated Sats fan would proclaim either of these to be a 'great should-have-been-#1'.

You are quite right. She tweeted that people should not buy the Decca one as she is with Warner Music and Daydream is brand new material.

You never know, I just prepared for the worst even though that'd be amusing too.

Didn't Katherine had two different albums on two different labels out last year too? A collection and a new studio album a week later.

James Morrison - 10,500+

Singles

Maroon 5/Xtina - 26,000

Looks like Maroon 5 are on course for 65-70k then, which is Rihanna's target - I think she'll make it pretty easily :drama:

I agree, I think she can easily beat that target, btw I couldn't find those sales on MW  I must be looking in the wrong place.

Try looking in the digital copy of the magazine in the weekly sales/mids report :P

I've never gotten over Jennifer Rush and "The Power of Love" keeping A-ha "Take on Me" of the top spot :)
