I'm not familiar with the US version of the Voice, I don't know what I'm expecting.

Thought Bill was a lot better in that battle, Max came across quite shouty and uncontrolled. Agreed with Joelle going through though.

Danny's first pairing was more of a shouting match. I found it awful

 

And the next performance a bit of an oddball next please.

I thought some of those battles tonight were brilliant. There are some seriously good talented singers going through to the live finals.

 

Who are everyones favourites from tonight's show?

Oh my god, Sam Buttery was AWFUL, I have no idea how he got through :mellow:

 

Aside from that, no massively controversial decisions, I was glad Will went for Tyler surprisingly though, I can't stand Heshima's personality. My favourites tonight were Ruth and Joelle!

At least I'm well aware of Ruth. How adoreable she is and what a vocal range. She's like a gospel version of Mariah with the likeability factor. She definitely stands out for me and can see Ruth doing very well in this competition.

:lol: Joelle is the black woman with long curly brown hair who sang Chaka Khan with Jenny (the blonde woman) :P

 

I agree with you on Ruth as well, upon her blind audition she did admittedly seem like 'Battle Round fodder' but I can easily see her being the winner of Team Tom, if not the whole thing actually :o

Most of the acts that went through I didn't like, I thought Jessica Hammond was way better than that Vince "What Am I Doing Here" Hill on We Found Love, to be honest Jessica should have been better off paired with some one else.

 

The only acts I like that went through were Tyler James, Bo Bruce and Joelle Moses. Some of the Battles were quite a bit of an odd pairing but so far my favourites gone through.

Tbh, I thought Denise outpowered Ruth.

I thought the battle for I Heard It Through The Grapevine would be a walkover for Jaz but Jay did really well. If it had been measured against expectations then he should have gone through.

bo is beautiful. :wub: my favourite of the night, the battle worked really well in combination with vince's vocals. I also loved vince (other vince) so I'm happy that he went through. I couldn't stand sam or ruth though, shame that the latter got through. very screamy performance.

Didn't Jaz say he had a throat infection? Or something along those lines anyways.

 

I do agree with Lee that Denise was equally as strong as Ruth but I just like Ruth - she is perfect for The Voice as she doesn't look like your typical popstar. Denise oozed class on stage and you could easily tell she had the experience of performing to her advantage. Ruth however hit the mon£y not£. *o* Ka-ching!!!

 

As for Vince, he sang 'We Found Love' better than Jessica which seemed a bit strange. Being a song written for a female singer, I would've expected the song to be far more suited to Jessica. However, the key they chose to perform the song ended up suiting Vince more so I'd say he won by default. I don't see anything that special in him.

Deneice at the end, just reminded me of Nicole Scherzinger when I closed my eyes :lol: Glad Ruth made it through. Gutted Jessican didn't get through, and yay for Bo and Jaz! Glad Heshima went after he showed that horrid attitude!

I wish Jessica & Vince hadn't been paired up. Two of my favourites! :( Glad Vince went through out of the two, though.

 

Deniece also reminded me of Nicole Scherzinger! :lol: With a touch of Sinitta, haha.

Yeah, I really was not a fan of Ruth at all.. the vocals went they went for the belted notes, were painfully harsh to me. Denise on the other hand, she was belty, but she was well refined I think, when she needed to be.

 

I think a lot of tonight was a bit too shouty for me, vocal battles shouldn't be a question of who can belt out a song better, as they were with Max/Bill, Sam/Aundrea etc. My favourite of the night was probably Joelle, but I loved Bo as well. She's got the whispery voice that is kind of Diana Vickers-ish, but there's an edge to it, that's very soothing. Maybe more comparable to Dido? Great show though overall.

I don't think it's about who can sing a song much harder, more whether they can show all the right vocal gimmicks in the time they have. See Vince and Bo, Vince had a much more powerful voice but he controlled it really well so that he wasn't over powering Bo's. The problem was that Bo was always going to to through, especially since Danny has a lot more males than females. I thought Bo was better, but I think he voice is un-natural, but that's just my opinion.

 

I thought they got everything else right apart from Bill/Max. I thought Max was too gimicky, and Bill had a really nice tone to his voice. He'd come on so much more from the auditions.
