July 29, 20159 yr Been on an AHS binge the last couple weeks (previously watched the first few episodes of S1 + S3) and now up to S3:E5 and I totally love it  Asylum was an incredible series that unnerved me and kept me gripped! Murder House was very good too but once you realised what 'the house does' it made it much less scary! Coven is not gripping me as much so far; too much style over substance imo and the witch theme is not really clicking with me atm.
July 29, 20159 yr Author Still trying to psych myself to put myself through the last few episodes of Season 4 but I just CAN'T
July 31, 20159 yr Season 4 isn't "bad" it's just very "seen it all before" and "COME ON. JUST GET ON WITH IT". Dandy (?) was the saving grace of that season. A true psycho!
August 9, 20159 yr Still trying to psych myself to put myself through the last few episodes of Season 4 but I just CAN'T The last episode was somewhat satisfying so it'd be worth it for you to finish I think. They've recruited some great people this season (Max Greenfield is a YES) but I fear it's going to be like last season where they put all their effort into squeezing in a million cameos rather than focusing on the storyline itself. August 25, 20159 yr Two more teasers are out: mhmh9x8Ktqk That first teaser made me jump, it reminds me of that Dr Who episode with peoples faces getting sucked into TVs or something. Terrified me when I was younger
October 8, 20159 yr What an opener! :o I'm so intrigued by this, to me it feels different than anything done before by this show. I can't yet tell if that's a good or bad thing. Gaga though
October 8, 20159 yr Despite the reviews I really liked it! AHS has always been a bit confusing and disconnected so the opener for this series is no surprise! I am very much looking forward to this season will explain how all the seasons connect and Gaga was brill :o
October 9, 20159 yr Weren't that pleased with the first episode very disappointing, but I will give it a chance and keep watching and hopefully it will improve. Also I did like Lady Gaga, thought she was really good in this, but really missing Jessica Lange though she made the series.
October 9, 20159 yr I went into this thinking that Lady Gaga wasn't going to be that great because they've hyped her a little too much, but she was actually one of the only good things about the episode, even if she is just basically a second-hand Jessica Lange. Her character seems interesting thus far. In pretty much full agreement with the reviews though, and the whole rape scene with Max Greenfield seemed more than anything like a Ryan Murphy fantasy that he just had to include for the banter, as opposed to something that actually tied in with what was going on (despite what he says about "the monster feeding off of the drug" or w/e). October 9, 20159 yr Totally disappointed by the first episode. I agree with the reviews that say AHS has become more about shock value and bringing on as many big names as they can rather than focusing on the plot itself. It's a bit sad considering that having lesser known actors and a very solid plot is what made it popular in the first place. Sometimes less is more and it feels like they are cramming 15 TV shows into one. It's in no way organic. The only saving grace is that there is actually a distinguishable protagonist (Wes Bentley) this time around but I won't be surprised if they forget about that and focus on another character by the third episode. Lady Gaga was fine but only because I had low expectations. Even Sarah Paulson, who has arguably been the best thing about this series, may not be able to save this season.
October 10, 20159 yr Dear god what a snorefest. Don't mean to shame Jessica Lange, but her not being on this season is for the best. She's awesome, but on AHS she's a cam hog. I will say, I'm more drawn to this then seasons 2 & 3. Nothing will beat Season 1 - but this could be a slow burn, much like Season 1. Lady Gaga playing Lady Gaga? How original. Couldn't they have at least given her a challenge? I think they could have just cut her for the episode after the four-way with the one line and everyone would have still creamed their pants.. however, the rest of her scenes were alright I guess.. but you like to dress up, we get it. It's getting old. Thank god they at least dyed Max Greenfield's hair Blonde for his scene, because I don't think I could take another handsome brown haired man on this show. Hard to tell the difference in Cheynne Jackson, Wes Bentley and Matt Bomer when you aren't really paying attention to what's going on. Still interested, will keep watching which is more than I did for Season 3. Not nearly half the development they could have made, especially since there was an hour of showtime. Hard to tell the difference in Cheynne Jackson, Wes Bentley and Matt Bomer when you aren't really paying attention to what's going on. Apparently that's deliberate and we'll find out why in the next episode.
