December 4, 201114 yr Rebecca was always gonna be more of an album artist ayway, can't see any of her future singles doing well unless they get an X Factor airing. I agree, but I've yet to hear anything by McCartney that matches 'Imagine' for me I love that dreamer line in Imagine but I prefer Let it be.

December 4, 201114 yr Did someone cover that? I know a song of that title but had no idea it had anything to do with Lennon. According to Wikipedia (so take with a huge pinch of salt) Marianne Faithfull covered the song on her 1979 album Broken English. Then-New Zealand politician Marilyn Waring covered the song as a single in 1980.[8] Jerry Williams covered the song in 1984 on his album Working Class Hero. Richie Havens covered the song for his 1987 album Richie Havens Sings Beatles and Dylan. Blind Melon covered the song on their last-ever tour with Shannon Hoon as their singer, in 1995. Mike Peters covered the song when with The Alarm as a backing track to their 1989 single "A New South Wales". David Bowie's band Tin Machine recorded a version of the song on their 1989 self-titled debut album. Cyndi Lauper covered the song live on Lennon: A Tribute in 1992. Screaming Trees covered the song for the 1995 tribute album Working Class Hero: A Tribute to John Lennon. Roger Taylor covered the song on his 1998 album Electric Fire. Marilyn Manson covered the song on the B-side of the 2000 single "Disposable Teens". Noir Désir covered the song on the 2000 album Liberté de Circulation'. Pain of Salvation covered the song live in 2001 together with Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy. Hilton Valentine covered the song on his 2004 album It's Folk'n' Skiffle, Mate!. Elbow covered the song for Q magazine in 2005. Ozzy Osbourne recorded a version for his 2005 collection Under Cover. The Academy Is... covered the song in 2006 on its From the Carpet EP. Tina Dickow covered the song for Amnesty International's 2007 'Make Some Noise' campaign in Denmark. Green Day contributed a cover of the song to the Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur in 2007. It peaked at #53 on the Billboard Hot 100, #6 on the Canadian Hot 100, #8 in Norway and #11 in Sweden. It also achieved notable success at rock radio, peaking at #10 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart and #18 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The ending features an excerpt of the final line of Lennon's version. Manic Street Preachers recorded a cover of the song on their 2007 album Send Away the Tigers. Racoon covered the song on their album Before You Leave (2008). Edited December 4, 201114 yr by fchd
December 4, 201114 yr Just read that Slow Moving Millie was married to Colin Farrell for 5 months in 2001. Lucky cow :heehee: Speaking of, LOVE Love On Top :kink:  So. Damn. 80s :D
December 4, 201114 yr So annoyed 'A Night With Beyonce' isn't being shown in Scotland! Hope this gets a good boost from it though
December 4, 201114 yr i find it strange that Kelly Clarkson's 'Already gone' only reached number 66 in the UK... one of her best & most commercially appealing songs.... It didn't get any radio support (but strong TV support) and it ended up getting cancelled before it was due to be officially released. Had radio supported it, it could've gone top 40 but the flop of IDNHU didn't help. I hope this era has more success for her in the UK.
December 4, 201114 yr Did someone cover that? I know a song of that title but had no idea it had anything to do with Lennon. Its one of my favourite songs ever, but im a bit of a commie!
December 4, 201114 yr Beyonce is really underperforming singles wise... her least succesful era ever...
December 4, 201114 yr The Pogues have definitely at least matched where they were this week last year but that was obvious already since it was #28 on the Friday mids. Outside chance of top 20 even? (Nah, probably about #24 max).
December 4, 201114 yr 'Love on Top' has HUGELY grown on me! At first I though it was a bit of a meh album track. But it's actually a great retro soul track that is a very nice listen. Love the octave changes at the end too
December 4, 201114 yr Poor Rebecca. :( Hope her album does well. :( I do feel a bit sorry for Rebecca. Maybe people are just fed up of being saturated with XF acts.
December 4, 201114 yr That's the one  And I said it before either of you... :P I can't refresh quickly enough to keep up with the chart show thread
