The chart report produced by Millward Brown / the OCC does compare sales v the same period last week but the midweek charts at Music Week do indicate when the sales increase is above what the record sold for the whole of the previous week (ie Sunday to Saturday).

No it doesn't, it's based on what the record sold at the comparable point from last week.

Thrilled to see Domino in the top 40. Shame at it being at the expense of Rebecca, although she has done well having 5 weeks in the top 40, it was looking as if she was only going to have 2 for a while, with that massive 10 to 30 drop second week.

Lana Del Rey is back in the 40 as well at #38 but still remains as a faller, so we lost Rebecca, and Jessie knocked herself out with PT.

My guess JLS will enter the chart over the weekend and end up losing Lou Monte or Justin Bieber, one of these will probably stay in, unless another track will climb from within the top 75.

And before anyone asks Susan Boyle is not top 40.

Coldplay have to be #1! I'd love their album to go #1 too so they can start the year on a double, but great for Ed to be #1 atm.

They should of kept Paradise at 59p till tomorrow at least

Hopefully they can hold on. I'm sure they can.

Is RITD not top 40 then? Really want it to get to at least #40 come Sunday. :heehee:

No... but if JLS and RITD appears over the weekend it will push Justin and Lou Monte out of the 40 which makes it 16 re-entries/climbers to the 40 from within the top 75/100.

Am I being incredibly stupid or is something wrong here? In the first part of the update, it suggests that David Guetta/Usher are at #35 and Sean Kingston is at #36 but the artist update says that Justin Bieber is #35... I take it Rizzle Kicks and Jessie J are actually #38 and #40 respectively (with Lana at #39) and The Wanted are at #41...

James Morrison & Jessie J are at #33. That solves the mistery ;)

A real possibility that a song that started the chart week at #2 on itunes held by Lou Monte could miss out on the top 40 altogether!!!

Paradise still #1 today - so far so good. They're still holding Flo Rida and Olly at bay on iTunes and I think they'll continue to do so at least until the cutoff point so Military Wives are still their greatest challengers. Do people go shopping on New Year's Eve?

Flo Rida could finally get to #1 next week as he's looking to overtake Coldplay on iTunes in the next few days - if he stays at #4 for this week than that'll give him a nice linear chart run of 2-3-4-5-6-7-4-1

Not particularly happy to see Lego House down to #7 again but it should manage a few more weeks top 10 anyway since it's still #4 on iTunes, it's just the victim of multiple versions of Olly/Rihanna and big physicals from Military Wives/Little Mix.

Maroon 5 still outside the top 10 :D

Bruno's album overtaking Olly's I see - I hope he doesn't overtake Coldplay as well but I'd imagine he will due to his advantage of being in the HMV sale. Mylo Xyloto is now #2 again on iTunes' albums chart only behind Now! 80. They could still return to #1 later in the month when Ed and Bruno are put back up to full price? (Although 21 is back at #3 on iTunes so perhaps that's not the greatest indication :P)

Would love to see loud by Rihanna sneak back into the top 15. Buble is dropping and so are Westlife, probably wont be able to do it this week but maybe next week. Would love it and GGGB to pass 2 million each at some point.
I'm not surprised to see Olly being taken over, his album is £12 at HMV! That's the same price they charge for double CDs like Now 80 etc!
With all these re-entries, and the climbers in the radio airplay chart, there is going to be a very different looking chart for me to post on Sunday :o

In which hmv is it £12?

I've seen it in hmv's Birmingham shops this week at £9.99, which is £1 more than they're selling it at hmv.com.

Happy to see Coldplay still at number 1 :D

me too: but I´m really surprised, because i think the song is not THAT good...anyways, better to have coldplay at number 1 than some other crap bands

I'm glad Rihanna isn't doing that well with "you da one". I think its an awful song and one of her worst singles.
