I hope we get some big suprises when Sunday rolls round. I remember last year Plan B shot up to #2 in the albums, for example, and we had The Wanted randomly returning to the top 5.
Obviously there will be a huge drop in sales this week but does anyone know by how much (just roughly)? Looking at last weeks albums for example #40 selling 16/17k ish? Where will selling that much this week get you?

Edited by torresgirl

Although the down side is that a few albums drop loads - from the top of my head, Michael Jackson's Michael, Bon Jovi's Greatest Hits, Westlife's Gravity, and Susan's Boyle's The Gift all plummetted (although I think The Gift was a Christmas album)

Wow thank you :) It's like going from December back to the summer sales wise!

Check out the singles though - 45k for a no10!!

Good point, I tend to concentrate on Albums but I guess the gift card thing is mainly on itunes and many more singles are sold on itunes than albums as a general rule.

I remember the shock with everyone when Ellie Goulding went from 26 to 9 in a week. Right after everyone said the album was flopping. Its sales around Christmas were fantastic.

I look forward to her next album...

The title and top post re-tweaked, I know some of you are probably expecting some chart info to appear, technically today is a public holiday for some. If anyone sees any info anywhere feel free to post and do watch out for fake charts, I remember one year somebody took the effort of posting one. :(
I suspect there wont be a great deal of movement in the charts due to lack of new entries. Military wives will remain at no1 for sure.

I can see a lot of movements of course not new entries but re-entries and re-climbers due to the gift card period on iTunes.

I would be more surprised if the Military Wives stay number 1 tbh.

What happened to Pixie Lott's Kiss the stars? Thought it was out on 26th.

Well, it's a post-album single, so it's been on iTunes for months. It's not in the top 300 atm.

Most of the new single releases for this week they will go unnoticed, they usually do, so don't expect Pixie Lott to chart with her new track, its usually the norm for this time of the year, plus its her third single of the album what do you expect, a miracle .

I thought that Noel Gallagher might have a re-appearence in the singles chart with If I Had a Gun. Although it's sold butter all on iTunes, it's got a physical release, and Noel is one of the few artists who can shift substantial amounts of physicals.

I heard the single has been pushed back till January. I'm sure they're waiting till the video's released.

Noel will be on Graham Norton on Friday week for promo!!

I'd love Noel to chart on Sunday but I reckon it would be asking too much for a 3rd consecutive Top 20 hit! The album's sold so well and I think it's around the 14th biggest seller of the year!

We only have one record store left in Dundee (HMV) and they stopped selling CD singles a while ago. (They DID stock Matt Cardle's "Run For Your Life" and Little Mix!!! what a selection... )
