December 27, 201114 yr Hmv seems to sell random cd singles by acts they know will sell, any others have to be brought online!! I know what you mean. When I was last in my local HMV (before it shut down) they were stocking charity singles and Syco label related acts which I didn't hardly see anyone buy. If they stocked all the CD singles and vinyl that are officially released, I know for a fact tons of ppl would buy it. When they stopped stacking them in favour for old compilation CDs, I stopped going in. Another thing I don't like is the difficult task of finding albums that enter lower in the chart. The supermarkets tend to only stock the Top 40 and nothing else. HMV stocked a large variety of the top 100 chart. Sad times :( Edited December 27, 201114 yr by soundseekerz

Sad times :( I agree, its all about demand and profit - not providing people who love music a service....thank Thatcherism if you will!! Just have to go to your local record store!! Anyway back on topic.....
December 27, 201114 yr I'd love Noel to chart on Sunday but I reckon it would be asking too much for a 3rd consecutive Top 20 hit! The album's sold so well and I think it's around the 14th biggest seller of the year! We only have one record store left in Dundee (HMV) and they stopped selling CD singles a while ago. (They DID stock Matt Cardle's "Run For Your Life" and Little Mix!!! what a selection... ) Top 20 may be out of reach, especially as it'll need over 20k to get there this week. "The Death of You and Me" did decently but nothing spectacular on physicals, so top 40 at best. Shame really.
December 27, 201114 yr With no update, we can at least speculate... Climbers; Ed Sheeran - Lego House #14 - at the least #6, number three on iTunes, but Little Mix, Olly Murs + Military Wives are likely to be selling more at the moment. LMFAO - Sexy and I Know It #19 - top 10 Labrinth - Earthquake #16 - top 10 looking certain too, I reckon a #9/10 position this week, Maroon 5 has two versions at #13 and #24, so is likely selling more. Olly Murs featuring Rizzle Kicks - Heart Skips a Beat #25 - it's actually pretty high already, so I reckon a 9/10 place jump to #15/16 is a likely outcome. The only new tracks in the top 40 will be The Wanted with 'Warzone' and James Morrison with 'Up' by the looks of it - with re-entries from LMFAO [PRA], Adele [sLY], Adele [sFTTR] and Ed Sheeran [TAT].

December 27, 201114 yr He's number 10 on itunes just now what makes you think he will jump so high? No, he's #3 - you have a very old feed.
December 28, 201114 yr Some massive changes on itunes in last 48 hours. Military wives are now no10. I wonder if we will see the biggest drop ever from no1 position? Coldplay are no1 and rightly deserved too!!!

Coldplay are no1 and rightly deserved too!!! They would need to drop out of the top 20 to do that. To beat McFly's Baby's Coming Back/ Transylvania which dropped from number 1 to number 20 in seven days.
December 28, 201114 yr 'One Night'/'I Got Stung', by Elvis Presley, also fell from No.1 to No.20. (W/E 29th January 2005).
December 28, 201114 yr I think Ed Sheeran will be the #1 album this week (hopeful for Coldplay of course). Guess the #1 single is between Military Wives and Coldplay - I suspect the MW are ahead at the moment, but that could change by Sunday.
December 28, 201114 yr They would need to drop out of the top 20 to do that. To beat McFly's Baby's Coming Back/ Transylvania which dropped from number 1 to number 20 in seven days. Could do it next week then if they hold on for this.
December 28, 201114 yr Doubtful, X Factor Finalists 2011 only fell 1-2-15, despite falling a lot quicker on iTunes than Military Wives, and the latter is undoubtedly more popular + receiving more physical CD copies. I reckon a second week at the top is likely, but would love for Coldplay to climb to #1 - it's such a great single. As for the album chart, I reckon it's a Sheeran-Coldplay-Winehouse battle, don't think Rihanna or Olly Murs will experience a significant boost, but should round off the top 5 quite nicely. Possibly Bruno Mars or Adele in the running for #1 too.

I agree it's unlikely but sales lower down will be higher than it was when "Wishing On A Star" was falling so "Wherever You Are" will NEED to be more popular to prevent it falling further.
December 29, 201114 yr Where do you guys think Noel Gallagher's album will chart this week coming up? Any chance he could sell >22K and break 500K for his YTD? Edited December 29, 201114 yr by AKA_me
December 29, 201114 yr Matt Cadman (@MattAATW) from All Around The World records on twitter has just posted that Dominick The Donkey has dropped 26 places BUT has still sold 12,000 SINCE Sunday!! Big sales this week I think!!!
