So 9 records (10 if we count Fairytale of New York - which I very much doubt), have already reached 1 million since the BBC Chart in August 2010. Surely the rate is only going to increase with a steady stream of downloads pushing a fair few contenders over the line. How long do people think it will take to get 150 or 200 million sellers?

Why the scepticism about FTONY - it was announced in the MW commentary just a couple of weeks ago...

Because MW are usually so reliable :heehee:

I want to see this supposed updated list of million sellers the OCC promised. I've never understood why they're so secretive about sales.

Mainly because FTONY was announced by MW as the 109th million seller when the OCC announced Moves Like Jagger as the 109th (but their unreliable too). Or maybe it's the fact that most sales data collectors can't account for at least the last 100k FTONY should have sold to pass the million.

Katy has many better songs than her two million sellers, but both are enjoyable anyway so it's not too bad, although I can't say either are particularly million seller worthy in terms of cultural impact or whatever you want to call it. :P

Ke$ha's 'Timber' will have passed 1 million in the last week.

If I had to pick 2 Katy Perry songs to be million sellers, it would be Teenage Dream and E.T.
All this 'Roar' shade. It's her second best song ever! So, SO pleased it's reached a million  smash it KP.

swap TD for Dark Horse and I agree. Roar really isn't all that great.

How did this become a Katy Perry thread?

Anyway, Roar is a great track :music: and it deserves #1 and a million seller, even if she's already a massive success prior to that.
