January 15, 201214 yr Does STIUTK really count as 'rock'? It's just a mildly indie-ish pop song to my ears. We've got Pumped Up Kicks to come in any case. I agree. It doesn't sound like rock to me (neither does Pumped Up Kicks though). Surprised Professor Green is still top 40. Good he's got 10 weeks in the top 40 though. Hopefully his next single can climb into the top 40 next week. I love it.
January 15, 201214 yr STILL don't hear that. Seconded. Gotye and Theo sound nothing alike to me, whereas the Sting vocal comparisons I can hear. And the production sounds closer to Little Mix than Hurts (i.e. not at all )
January 15, 201214 yr Ireland and Netherlands have lower corporation tax than the UK so record companies might try to exploit that. As I recall, U2 moved their publishing company because of the removal of a tax break that was supposed to benefit smaller companies. Its a disgrace they avoid paying tax and Osbourne acts like he doesnt know or care and yet they are trying to force through the changes in benefits through the Lords this week!!

January 15, 201214 yr I see you're not a fan of electro house  With this and your lack of support for Antidote. I wouldn't say that, there isn't a genre of music I dislike, I just judge it by the song, and I am not a fan of either song tbh. For instance I like most of Nero's songs.

I was at a loss as to what to describe this in my personal chart (i write the genres at the side) and started off as describing it as pop but changed it to rock/indie when i saw the video and it was on mtv rocks, maybe theyll play it on hits when it charts higher...in any case itll get increased video play this week it being top40!! :w00t:

January 15, 201214 yr This Sean Kingston song is so generic. Indeed though i find myself liking it because i link it to sunny days on holidays in ayia napa and the inbetweeners movie!!
January 15, 201214 yr Love this song, although I do prefer the Steve Winwood version (even if I did think it was by Baltimora the first time I heard it): oqlauwX_ums And the proceeds from the JV McMorrow version goes to a mental health charity, so glad it's done so well. January 15, 201214 yr While I don't particularly like the cover of "Higher Love" (I think he is trying to reach higher notes than his vocal register can comfortably hold), it's certainly a worthwhile exercise as it's nothing like the original.

January 15, 201214 yr Who does the chorus and hook to this song? Sounds like Plan B... But it can't be, as I like it and surely he would have credited Plan B?

I do know what you mean actually, it's not really in his key. But it's a very soulful (as in heartfelt) interpretation.
